What Panga is this? Experts pls advise

One will have to bribe his parts out of the army depots as they are not available in the market for specialized vehicles. Its not cost affective for the parts dealer to stock parts, just bcoz the army might need 'em someday. Thats the reason to phase out such vehicles.

I've had personal experience on this thanks to my military days.....politely put, very very ordinary performers and I dunno the army is still using them.

@mitsu_man, I don't know but somehow I like the ride & handling to be better than the Unimog. Though it cannot beat the technical performance of the Mog.

The army has some left, mostly the ambulances.

Frankly, I ain't no expert on the MOG but you are correct....comfort wise this rises above the mog, whereas specs and performance are probably not as impressive!!! DeeDee and Bashartu should be the guys to consult!!!

By looking @ IVECO one can think of UNIMOG as a close competitor, however UNIMOG is altogether a different experience The Gerat Motor built for the multi-purpose stuff. It is equipped with PTO (power Take off – the one recently installed by DeeDee in DeeMog) connection to operate rotary equipment such as snow brooms, snow blowers, brush mowers or stationary conveyor belts. Same can be used in forests or harvesting machines on fields & commonly used by military for troops career, light arm carrier, ambulance, fire fighters, expedition campers, radio box, signal truck, pulling trains as Road-rail vehicles, extreme off-road competitions, Dakar Rally & the list goes onn…

Unimog features high ground clearance due to Portal Gears that allows the axels to be higher than the tires centers, I haven’t noticed this in Normal 4x4 machines, the approach & departure angles have no match. Unimogs also feature a flexible frame that allows the tires a wide range of vertical movement to allow the truck to comfortable driver over extremely uneven terrain, even boulders of 1 metre in height. Youtube features some remarkable performances of Unimogs around the world, the one which were used by Pak Army were 421.128 (soft Top- BeeMog), 421.129 (ambulance – DeeMog) & 406 2.5 ton version. We can’t ignore the crawl control and articulation & DeeDee can through more light on this

i was late on this thread and you guys already discussed the machine. yes this is an average kind of rig with nice looks so no need to get into IVECO punga.

the real time punga is Unimog and Pinzagaur as they are great performer with offroading reputation on all terains and we are lucky that both are available in Pakistan for restoration.

I remeber seeing these on PMA road alot in 90s.Yes CMH also has ambulances of this.Its fast coz i seen it going like wind almost everytime....
