nop, the performance as well as the shape, have owned both and trust me, i've done my share of offroading on both of em... vigo gets quite unstable at high speeds :(, the oldones had a better center of gravity which means more fun (Y)

You dont go off-road with high speeds. Theres a 4x4 machanism made for that but i do agree that its got very less traction as compaired to the old ones(on road with high speed). i dont know why but i love the crazy extra power.

The fuel consumption is amazing. Costs as much as a honda city... or maybe less.

i know we dont go offroading at high speeds, but its still quite un-stable during heavy offroading, whether u agree with me or not, the JDM hilux's were diff, the vigo just dont have that "charm" as i would call it :)..
