i'd say santro. maintain it well and it runs tight forever. alto is about luck. some get lucky, some get the bad ones, the rest stay in denial. two of my best mates got santros. one of them is retarded whose been trying so hard to kill the car but it still remains strong. i do routine maintenance and fixes on their cars so ive been keeping track. love those little cars and their engines. very practical. europe was in mind when they made these cars, so there's some standard in them. same is not true for the alto. just remove the footrest and all should be good. and you seem to get better value deals for them aswell. vitz ranks higher but between the two, i'd say santro anyday
