I have just bought 2nd hand Alto VXR 2006... 62k done.... Some times (not always) when i put its gear in reverse direction, some heavy mechanical sound comes like " Ghurr or ghrum" as if some parts are colliding each other...what could be the possible reason?? This sound is very annoying and may be problematic in future?? Plzzz help!!!!
the reverse gear in alto is straight edged type one i think.....the problem cud be the gear itself is damaged maybe....
its a common problem in alto!
not only in alto but also in mehran cultus khyber.........
m having the same prob in my 2010 alto.company mechanic said its common in alto
Common suzuki problem
common dude !
It often creates a "trit" kind of sound whenever you put the car in reverse, which increases if you apply the gear when the car is moving forward.I have also noticed this sound in a 2002 city and I dont think its a major issuebut still if you feel then you should consult a mechanic.
check the clutch adjustment.
@all....Thanx a lot for being so concerned!!!! i do not think this much sound will be common in other Zukis...BTW..its my first Zuki..before this 2xChevrolet Joy n exclusive ...1xDaewoo..1xVitz...I will get it checked up by Suzuki guys! Let see....@balochfaheem....i think clutch adjustment may be the possible solution!!!!
Depress the clutch fully.
This IS a very common problem as stated by the above members.Same happens with first gear.
adjust the clutch settings.... it will not happen... and if the gear stucks the first time don't apply it rather apply the 1st gear and move a lil forward and than apply the reverse .... won't trouble you
adjust the clutch cable more. or ask mechanic to increase clutch cable nut in clockwise direction.
or simple ask
clutch khench de yar... as i am regular victim of it.
+1I often do the same when the gear is creating problems
clutch setting kerwani hai.... mujhay b.... usi say sahi hoga
Clutch Adjustment will help if the gears are not damaged yet.
Always depress the clutch all the way when moving a car from standstill.
Do not put the car in reverse/forward when it is moving in the opposite direction.
Same problem with my alto 2004. I guess its very common. Tried replacing clutch plate etc etc.. and I press it all the way down, showed a mechanic but he said its an inherent suzuki problem
@ all i will try to adjust its clutch!!! Thanx
try to depress the clutch completely partially depressing the clutch causes this problem
