    Exclamation Problem of Engine Starting on CNG in Alto

    Salaam Dears;

    I bought Suzuki Alto 2nd hand, good maintained Alto about 6 month ago.

    Now in I have observed some concerned in starting engine while on CNG.
    When engine is cold specially at morning, mostly I can't start engine on CNG. While driving on CNG when engine is cold initially , if due to some reasons engine stopped, after that I have had to convert to petrol to start again. At the same condition even cold state, when It is on petrol, it starts quickly/perfectly without any problem.

    When engine warmed-up (temp gauge needle reach near to half scale), there is no problem of engine starting both on CNG and petrol at any time (half-key pressed start
    ).

    Is this a problem in engine/CNG system adjustment? How can i get fixed this?

    Hopes, am clear in describing concerned!

    Regards;

    Thanks for reply;

    Can you provide me more information? What type of this replay is? what would be its function? Is this auto shift like in EFI engines?

    I am talking about a simple rs. 150 switching relay. go to some sound electrician and ask him to install a 4-point relay on the CNG circuit.

    Adding relay ensures MAximum amount of current to operate Solenoid Valve which controls Main & Idle Flow of CNG. Actualy its a temporary solution to over come Weak Solenoid Coil or poor Wiriing.
    Another common reason for such starting issue is the incorect ignition timing.
    In case of Alto the required ignition timing on Petrol is between 8~10 Deg & for CNG it shud be 16~18 Deg. The worn out point contacts or CAM follower causing incorrect dwell angle is also a common issu. SO better check condition of point & Ignition timing with the help of Timing Gun & adjust it. Aprently ur car shud have advancer too other wise its difficult to start car smoothly during COld & Hot conditions while operating on both Fuels.

    Did not gone for relay installation as it seemed temporary solution even think its JUGARR!

    Finally adjusted tappets adjustment while tuning . Problem solved almost. When cold, takes little long self some time only on CNG (not often) other wise half self start. I think its OK!

    Thanks to all who replied or even viewed this thread.

    Before Starting Pump the Accelerator 3 to 4 times and the start. If your battery is o.k. then your Alto should start with half SELF.
