hi how is the fog situation on GT road these days.I have to travel for from Islamabad to Lahore. I have to start travelling early morning to attend a meeting before 12 o clock and have to get back the same day InshaAllah. any suggestions/advice from travel gurus will be appreciated.thanx
Travelled last week (Isb-Sheikhupura and back). There was only little fog patch in Gujranwala for half Km only, that too, with very good visibility.
Don't know the latest situation. But I guess, it will be safe to travel these days.
^^THANX ....how about travelling via motorway ??
Please read this and do drive carefully. Btw isn't going through GT road much more longer and fuel consuming plus the stress of towns and congested areas? http://www.pmd.gov.pk/FOG/Motorway.html
thanx faiz...thats a very helpful link.and yea motorway is a better option.
came from lahore to RWP via GT... all clear good visibility
Came back from RWP to LHR through motorway on 29th Dec and there was no fog at all. Started my journey around 12 PM from RWP. What time do u intent to travel ?
early morning....around 6 o clock IA
I am not sure if you read this or not.. BUT going over it again will not be waste of time https://www.pakwheels.com/forums/news-articles-driver-education-safety/202182-fog-alert-driving-fog-when-visibility-turns-bad
Though there is no fog these days but 6 is a bit early so cant say for sure. However u can dial 130 and confirm from motorway guys about fog. I i did the same when i left for RWP on the 22nd.
thats a very informative thread indeed... signature fazalwahab thread
