Thank you for your quick response. Yes Babusar pass would be a chance, may or may not be crossable. I would be on a well kept 4x4. Would decide about it later.
Deosai in mid october? Wow.. did you see other tourists too or you were all alone? And did you cross it (Astore to Skardu or Skardu to Astore) or been to Sheoser lake and returned?
And regarding your suggestion about visiting these areas in September at max, you are right. I already have been to these areas in different seasons but never been to Gilgit Baltistan in autumn and this is going to be purely autumn trip. I know ideal autumn trip should be to Hunza and it should be somewhere between mid October and 20th of November and route should be KKH.
But as I been to Hunza just 3 months ago so want to witness the autumn in Chitral and Ghizer (Phandar, Ghupis etc). And also want to cross these three passes (Babusar, Shandur, Lowari), of course if conditions would be suitable.
Plan A
Lahore -> Babusar -> Astore -> Deosai -> Skardu -> Gilgit -> Ghizer -> Shandur -> Chitral side valleies -> Lowari -> Lahore (14 days)
Plan B
Lahore -> Dir -> Lowari -> Chitral side valleies -> Shandur -> Ghizer -> Gilgit -> Besham via KKH -> Lahore (9 days)
Though Plan A is my dream Plan from years but I am about to postpone it for next summer or so because it would be family trip, me wife and two kids (4 years, infant 10 months actually).
So thinking to go for Plan B, Chitral, Shandur etc.
Thanks again for your valuable input.
