KARACHI: Pakistan State Oil will introduce a new brand of petrol ‘E-10’ in the next week here, the price of which will be less by Rs1.5 per litre than the current petrol price.

Initially, this fuel with 90 per cent of gasoline and 10 per cent of ethanol was being introduced in Lahore, Karachi and Islamabad.
This fuel comprising both the fuels would be called ‘E-10’.
On August16, the Prime Minister approved the blending of ten per cent of ethanol into petrol; subsequently, PSO and Hydrocarbon Development Institute were directed to commence tentatively the project of blending ethanol into petrol.
PSO sources said this pilot project was started initially for six months for which 25 vehicles were arranged.
