Abobobilly's CG125 Thread - Its Evolution and Stuff I Changed

this is a hell long post .... DAMN!!!

The tyre looked exactly like my front tyre which is a CBR Dunlop Aeromax and its thread design is too much similar thats why I doubted thet some body placed a front type I havent seen any local brand making this design so far... may be the one u r talking about might be an imported one.

I have been brain storming to remember the brand of this tyre. I have actually seen this tyre in action, and very closely. A friend (wheeler+racer) had this tyre on his CG125 and i found this tyre to be very VERY impressive.

Its very Grippy, and provides amazing traction on the road. But, this tyre would literally wear out in just 5000 kms. Plus, i don't quite remember the cost of this. Maybe it was 3 or 4k ... just can't remember anything :S (also can't ask that friend because ... well, we are not in touch anymore)

I know because i have ridden with him dozens of times on his bike with this tyre. And being a rider and owner of a CG125 myself, i could clearly tell its performance while on the road. (we have evaded some nasty hard brakings as well)

The swing arm was making screaming noises since last week so today disassembled the complete rear some cleaning and greasing.

Opened the suspension bolts and found rust inside

Chain pitch was in very rough condition some bushes and rollers got rust and broken links

Took 1 hour to repair and clean the chain

In my bike front/rear bearings are stock even after 7 years still no dis balance or broken signs or any grrr grr voices. Don't remember the name exactly but the color is orange and center panel is plastic made.

check it. The bearings are company fitted NTN brand.

It could be that your bike is an even older model (2007?) which could be why its better in quality.

I also have an English version of workshop manual but that is of Honda 80-90 series.

If you are talking about Haynes Manual, then i already have that.

I don't know whats wrong with stock rims, although same rims are in my bike and so far 38000kms done on board but never require alignment even the front tube has no puncture in 7 years.

Again, maybe same reason i.e. Your bike is an older model. Newer models are coming with SH*T rims. Thats a fact. If you want, i can show you a picture of my previous rims, which look just brand new from the outside, but are very rusty from the inside.

Also, don't forget that i have spend nearly 4 years with these stock RIMs so i know for a fact that these are sh*t in quality because I had to get them re-aligned after every 1000-2000 kms.

Btw, my front tyre has never punctured in nearly 5 years (MaShaALLAH). Only the rear tyre causes much problem. I am also thinking of finding a Dunlop or something, a Tubeless/Radial tyre preferably. Bohat ho gya puncture ka darr <_<

I just want to change the handle of my bike and the mechanic suggested me to buy Pridor's handle. It's smart and sleek as compare to CG's.

Isn't pridor's handle a bit taller and wider? Why would you change it to Pridor's handle. Heck why would you need to change it at all?

I will complete 5000kms in next 2 years on my bike so no issue if i will get same tyre for my CG. Just name the brand and availability place and the tyre will be on my bike.

There is the problem. I am not in touch with that guy. But i could give you his facebook profile and you may ask him that question (without directing him to my thread, ofcourse).

150ml is enough to wash the filter. According to one of my friend you can wash it with Vim Powder and leave it in direct sunlight to dry but didn't try that.

You can wash it, but its not recommended. Vim doesn't wash the "frozen" dust inside the air filter (the wet dust, should I say). Have tried that, it actually ruins the foam of air filter. SO NOT RECOMMENDED.

I still don't know how do you do it with 150ml. I once tried it with just 200ml and i could wash just ONE foam with it lol. (Once you squeeze the dusty petrol out from one foam, you can't use it again, because it gets dirty). So i waste somewhere like 300-350ml for that job. Costs like Rs.50-60 for one filter wash.

ONE HOUR to clean just the chain? :o HOW? I mean, how did you clean it? Don't you use Petrol for cleaning purposes?

Oh, and did i tell you guys that i have also got the Rear Shock Absorbers opened up, and have gotten 10mm spacers installed in them. They were becoming a little too soft. Now they are slightly harder for "single rider" but are brilliant for pillion riding. Give Nice "Tactile" feedback.

I have to make few changes but will do it after Eid. Rear suspension change, head light and brake lamp need to be replaced.
Rear tyre started slipping on highways which is not a good sign loosing stability.

Yes 1 hour to clean and repair the change, I went to market to buy new chain but quality wasn't upto the mark. So decided to maintain stock.

I have done some Mileage Counting on Excel (i always count it and record it in my note taking app), but never really made an excel chart of it. Here it is:

The final two fill ups are recent, and as you can see ... even with Hi-Octane ONLY ... the mileage hardly becomes any better. This is one of the reason why i am against Hi-Octane in our bikes. Awein muft ka kharcha with no real benefit.

There is no issue with the fuel because the (Shell) petrol pump i use (in Lahore, Batti Chowk) is literally THE BEST in whole Lahore.

That's good. I got tank full for Rs. 1, 017/ when i installed CG Euro2 carburetor and the meter reading was 29356 and yesterday the bike went on reserve and the reading was 29746. Getting the average of 45km/ltr approx.

I guess you are driving on freeways right? Because i drive inter city and i have to drive "fast" (especially when i am on Canal)

From home to office total distance 3.5kms with no signal and speed breakers and i hardly cross 40kms/hr speed. 3 rounds of city during this fill covered almost 32kms in worse traffic jam.

My CG's handle is shaking a lot...specially while taking turns.....checked all the bolts and nuts...all tightened...

its either front wheel misalignment....or front shocks.....seems like i have to change stem steering and sun balls and cups as abobobilly bro did...

Need a suggestion:
My CG fuel tank had rust particles floating so decided to wash it.Thought that the missing in high speed is due to the rust or water in petrol.
After a wash, i found a tiny hole on its bottom near the seam. I have not yet installed or put petrol in it.

Can it be repaired? If yes, how?

OK. Thanks for your suggestion. Actually I took it to the radiator wala. He first scratched the paint off around the hole and sniffed inside the tank for any petrol, and soldered the spot. As the tank was washed so there was no chance of "ignition".

There were already 3 holes repaired like this before. Next hole will the forever-hole as i will be replacing the tank.

My bike has started slipping on highways and on curves at the speed of 30kms/hr even on normal brake press. It has no grip on the muddy and sandy areas. Should I change the bike tyre or is there any other problem?
