Sound Deadening

Dear Friends,

Does anyone know where can i found stuff like Dynamat or similar stuff like quick roof which helps in sound deadening of the car's cabin? what other options are available in Pakistan for same?
Input from across Pakistan is welcomed... i am located in Isb though.

you will get better replies having this thread in the car audio forum. in a nut shell, you can use underlay or rubber mats used in gyms as a cheap alternative to dynamat.

wht is the second material? is it blanket or one used in ac vents?

The second type of insulation is known as 'namda' in desi terms so you should be able to source it easily using that term. I'd recommend using it over the carpet underlay because its alot denser than the underlay hence provides better sound deadening. In Islamabad, you should be able to find it at Curtain Museum in F-10. Thats where I bought some, some time ago.

Dynamat is avaiable in Islamabad in the shell pump shop in F-7 (Jinnah Super).

Dynamat is essentially adhesive rubber on the underside with an aluminium covering on the outside.
Its very very expensive for the amount you get. Not worth it in my opinion. A custom alternative would be to heat 4-6mm thick rubber sheets (to make them softer and more adaptable), use samad bond (i prefer CEMENTEX coz its wayy better), and stick it on the metal.

Sound. Deadened.

@mani1, Man i dont remember the price. But yar shell pump mein jo shop ha F-7 wala mein wahan aksar dynamat available hota ha. us shop mein ja ka poch lo.
