Car Wash - Novice questions

so i took my Honda City to a car wash at a petrol pump... since I have always given it Honda Showrooms for car wash before, and I have not seen how they do it - I do not really know if how the petrol pump washed my car was correct or not. Maybe you awesome helpful people may enlighten me a bit!

1. He sprayed the whole underside of the my car with pressure washer (after lifting up the car)

2. Also sprayed water on the opposite side of the wheels/tyres (the opposite side of the wheel plates). Does this interfere with ABS sensors?

3. He sprayed oil around on the opposite side of the wheels, inside of the mudguard etc.

4. He did not seem to apply oil on the whole undercarriage of the car.

5. Opened the bonnet, and lightly sprayed water. Followed with spraying what seemed like Brake Fluid. I hope this does not damage any components.

6. He also sprayed water onto the side mirrors. Does that interfere with the motors in Power Mirrors?

The car seems fine, and everything seems in working order. Later I got the car waxed. It is much cleaner, and the cabin is almost soundless.

Was anything about the Car Wash incorrect?

the oil sprays are bad, they will damage the cv joint boots and stain plastic parts

Spraying oil on the underside, behind the wheels and in the engine bay is disastrous.
Do NOT get it done again.
Water on side mirrors is fine.

From now on, get the car washed only from above, with a car shampoo, have it dried with soft cloths, wax the car and ur done.

Occasionally, get the interior treated to a polish that moisturizes the plastic and if u want, there are tyre polishes as well.

Do you think the metal under the car is exposed without treatment?

its got a very thick coating that protects it from rust etc, the oil that you spray on it causes the coating to peel off.

If you had your engine sprayed with diesel fuel - then say good bye to all the plastic parts and wiring in the engine room. It should only be washed with a light spray of water water if necessary and left to dry and top most the engine should be dead cold when washing.

I suggest leave it alone - you dont live in the engine room do you?

if diesel in the bonnet is so harmful, then why is it so commonplace..

Even the Honda Showroom people spray diesel when I give my car to them for "safai"...

They also say they spray oil underneath...

Bro i have altis since 6 years iam doing service and after wash i always purchase 50 rupee desil and they spary under whole car and under bonet on the engine .Desel is not harmful as i always see the shining comes due to desil and the rust also never ever eat ur car body.
I donnt know u said that desel is harmful.
Iam against the motor oil mixed with desel and then some people spray.The problem is that oil is sticky and when u rum ur car the dust will absorb on the oil and ur serviced car become more duty from under .
so i must say u that always go for desel and one of member said that desel eat plastic parts,i totaly disagree .

The oil/diesel spray will only temporarily kill the "cho cho" sound. The oil will dampen the sound and give u the feeling that the problem is gone.
Its not.
Its a temporary fix, and one with harmful side-effects.

Sir its not so hard or confusing just visit 5 gud service station ,and ask my sayings frm them u wil get to knw truth.
I have 4cars in my house and u can se that they r so neat and clean frm engine and frm under that u cannt belive.
Sme service stations mix dirty oil with desel,i must say u that always spray desel and ur chu chu masla wil solve.
I have also 2006 mehran,and never ever faced masla of chu chu.
Chu chu masla always start whn u r putng dirty oil or clean oil with desel and whn u drive al dust particles startd absorbing in oily parts and whn the dust cover completely on chu chu parts then it starts chu chu.

I totally agree with all the guys who have written against use of oil & diesel on underneath of the car and the engine bay etc. This does no good but is rather harmful as others have already explained.

Pakistan is perhaps the only country in the world where this practice is being done by illetrate service station people.

solution is simple

if u have an older car then u should spray the car's bottom to make the bushes and bearings work(a doze for few days)

if u have new a car ..dont spoil it by spraying diesel or oil whatever it is

corrosion occurs because of the moisture and humidity at high level in the atmosphere ...but now the car floors are made by thick sheets nd they wont corrode at all

oil also absorbs dirt so quick nd in enormous amount that it could malfunction anypart at anytime while same case is with diesel whatever u say if u spray diesel underneath the car it cant evaporate like patrol....it is made up of chemicals and will surely disturb the performance of some parts

Don't know, but it is fact that Diesel/oil damage the rubber parts underneath the car.

Those Honda showroom guys are "confirming" future business from you. If you read any proper car service manual specially of a diesel vehicle it says to immediately wipe off any diesel fuel if spilled on any rubber part in the engine bay as it may damage the integrity of the part.

Ask these geniuses why they use oil on the undercarriage? do they think its unprotected? all body panels are thickly coated with a rubbery tar mix and the rest chassis parts are powder coated, the bolts/nuts are galvanized, what can they save by doing their oil regime?

you obviously have no idea what petroleum products do to rubber specially when left to evaporate.. So please rather than just pushing your malpractice of "jaahil service waalay ka mashwara" please go study about it.
