Hey!
Howdy guys? I have a question, actually its a 2 part question, its been around a month or so since i got my system installed in the car and it feels like the system lacks in mid-bass. Now either my definition of mid-bass is incorrect, but from my understanding its supposed to be the bassy range, which dont belong in the low freq range, and hence mid.
I've got the following setup,
Focal PS 165's in the front (i have yet to buy rear speakers, will do soon), hooked up to a 4 channel Memphis amp, which is hooked upto a Pioneer 80Prs, & i have a sub hooked upto a focal mono amp.
Now if i turn off the sub, all the sound i get is pretty much low freq, vocals etc (which is fine) from the tweeter, but there is no mid-bass feel to it at all. The Components in the door are working because if i put my hand on them, i can feel them, but mid-bass is almost non existent, heck the original honda speakers (Civic 1.8) had more bassy feel then these. I always used to think that maybe these focal components aren't supposed to produce any bassy sound, but then i read a few comments here ( https://www.pakwheels.com/forums/car-entertainment-electronics-gps-navigation/207567-focal-165a1-vs-focal-ps165#post3697421 ) , specifically @bad_cheetah 's where his experience says "reproduction of sound through them is crazy, strong, full, deep and extended are the bass notes through it.' I have not experienced any of that.. =\
Now where do you guy think the issue is? My Head Unit is set to Full Pass for the speakers. The Amp is almost set to full pass. Confused???
