Default City 2011 tyre swap from 15 inch to 14 inch

    Guys,

I have a city 2011 with general stock tires. I do have almost brand new Yokohama tyres (3000 kms done) and alloy wheels from my previous car which are of 14 inch (185X65 R14). I am wondering how smart an idea it is to swap the original 175X55 R15 generals with these 185X65 R14 Yokohamas.

I know the speed error will be +2% but I have seen many ppl drive the new cities with an error of -2% (tires swapped to 185X65 R15).
Other than this speed error and a possibly drop in road clearance by half an inch - will there be any other issues?

    Thanks

Should not be any issue other than the one you mentioned...

Replacing Yokohama with General is a stupid decision... and replacing the current size with OEM is a great decision!!!

In my opinion, you have both and nothing to spend extra (as I understand), so go head change them and espically let us know about your feeling in driving and any other issues you got.

try to make a deal with tyreshop and do the swap size 15 to size 15, foot print may be 185 mm or 175 mm but that will not compromise the road clearence. do not go from Big to Small stay BIG with less of shadow (aka width).

Why not sell the both pair of rims and tyres and just get some decent 15's with New Yokohoma tires?

I am completely agreed with your idea.

Poster; if possible try to get alloy & tyre in 15 size.

    City looks good in 15profile.

Thanks alot guys for your valuable input. There is just one little problem that I missed mentioning - I can only keep one set of rims + tires as I have not yet sold my previous car but will do so in a week or two :-)
