Question Engine oil for honda city 2010 manual

    Asalam O Alaikum

I have searched but not found reasonable answer for better engine oil according to the condition of my Honda city 2010 manual. Kindly help me . I have purchased the car two days back and i don't know which engine oil was previously used by the last owner. Meter says 40000 km, it may be the correct reading or may be meter reversed but more chances are the reading is correct. One noteable thing is i have checked the oil it seems clean but very thin. I have drove the car in 2 days for 611 km (500km on highway and 110 km in Lahore city) and avg after my trip was 17.7 km/L on my meter which i think is very good. I have tried to get the owners manual but cant find. All i find is Honda fit's owners manual which says that i should use 5w 20 engine oil. Situation is confusing for me as i belong to Bahawalnagar i may have hard time to find 5w 20. Some body help me in this regard thanks.

Try to find any 0/5/10 w20/30 SM or SN graded oil, preferably synthetic. Any of these will be good for your car, although the thicker oils will give reduced avg. If for some reason you can't find SN graded oil, try to find SM. Don't go any lower than that though, or you can say bye bye to the catalytic converter.

Go to a nearby dealership they are not as expensive as you might have heard. Also every part they have is made for the car.

5w30 oil is ideal, thinner oil is probably not a good idea in the long run.

Use the one ziyad said that will cost you 3000. This one is made by caltex
Another option is 5-30 SM also available at Honda n this will cost you 2400.
Use Honda filters n oils. I have been using honds from 2002 n I assure you that their products are genuine and very good quality.
