Default Honda City 2009 Humming sound from wheels on high speed

    Hello All

I have just bought Honda City 2009 Manual, and its 83000 km driven. The car is in very good condition and engine and suspension are very good. The only issue I am experiencing is when I drive it to above 80 km/h, the humming sound is coming from the wheels/tyres, and I have no idea from where its coming. When I drive it below 80, there is no sound. There is no any extra noise in engine or anywhere else. Please guide me how can this issue be resolved. I have currently no idea that whether the alignment of wheels is ok or not, because I have just bought the car.

How much it would cost for all the bearings? And which brand should be used?

Tyres are Yokohama, normal tubeless tyres, with no alloy rim. An I live in Lahore. Kabli parts have a bad reputation, i dont know whether to install them or not.

Yokohama are good tyre but old tyres got harder and make noice. Assuming tyres are not so old thn it must be bearings. And not all kabli items have bad repute even mechanics some time prefer kabli ones. If cost is not an issue thn honda 3s have all the parts.

Ok, I went to mechanic and when he drove the car, he said the bearings are 100% fine, the humming sound is due to the hardness of tyres, and he recommended that you replace the tyres, so I replaced all four tyres with new ones and bought Nexen 185/65/R15 (Previously my car had 195/65/R15 Yokohama). People here recommend Yokohama, but the Yokohama Tyres are hard and hard tyres give noise/humming sound. So I compared both Yokohama and Nexen, and found that Nexen is much softer than Yokohama. Also, I checked the cheap ones too (Eurostar), they are more hard like a rock. So after checking and comparing all the tyres and their prices, I installed Nexen, and believe me, the car is now smooth and the noise is totally gone. Even at 120+ there is no humming sound.

I have just bought the car and tyres were old and was at 25% life, so I had to change them anyway. But in selecting new tyres, one has to also ensure that tyres must not be hard, to avoid the noise.

Yokohama tyres are hard ??? lol...i m sorry to say but u clearly have no idea about tyres and their qualities. Yokohama db decibel and advan db are the class leading tyres in road silence and comfort plus softness. Yes yokohama S drive and maybe A drive are hard but then they are more towards the sporty side. Nexen is also a good tyre but compared with Advan db or for example Pirelli Cinturato P1, they are waaaayyyyy inferior. So, my request is, kindly dont misguide ppl. If u are happy with your Nexens, thats awesome, but t say "Yokohama are hard"....its totally unjust and unfair

    I do have this vvvvVvvvvVVVVVVvovovoVVVVVvvvvv

    Sound.
Checked all bearings but all were OK. I'm sure it's due to hard, non even low quality tires. 😊
