i plan to upgrade car, i like the shpe of city, but since i drive jdms, and i have driven GLI, i feel very unsafe with braking of city...

I am driving a Honda city 13 aspire, since 2 years and never felt any braking problem. In fact I think it's better than many pdms. Always use genuine pads and timely change of brake fluid.

Civic 2014 barely rukte hai if you're at around 80ish with hard barking tou city ko kya gunah hai. Plus city has drums in the rear so that plays a role too.
Brakes on hondas aren't good.....personal experience

Default why is the braking of city so poor?

You are right i drove brand new city 500 kms of my friend , and my first question to him was why isnt it stopping. And his reply was" yes sir brakes are like this"
My uncle sitting with me on passenger side ,also felt that brakes were not upto the mark.

Maybe because it has no rear disc brakes.
Even my belta had better brakes after 100k kms

    Op is very right.
I have driven vitz , belta and gli. After driving these cars the brakes of city feel really bad.

The issue is not with the car but with the tyres which are Euro Star. As soon as you replace them you will feel better braking response.

Situations, driving conditions and the driver matters. City has no braking issues, this coming from a fellow who owns an altis, a pajero, drives an X5 often, adores the civic and biastly supports a corolla.
City has no issue at all, i drove one for 1100 kms within the past month, simply fell in love with it, God knows what you expect from it.

I own a City 2011 MT. The ABS has saved me from surely hitting the front car in sudden stop of traffic at least half a dozen times. One time, I had to sway the car to keep it from hitting the one in front, but even that didn't result into a skid or anything.

On the other had, how many times do you think my driver has hit my Corolla 2011 GLi from the front despite braking hard? Hint: the bumper has been replaced twice.

People are discrediting the brakes of the Honda City for no reason.
I had a 09' GLi and I found the brakes of my new City Aspire 1.5 to be actually better. Though the biggest difference for me is the driving "feel" of the City. I enjoy driving it.

Mind you, my experience is based on the 195/60 tyre profile as I got the tyres changed the next day I got the car.
