What are the specs of new rims and tyres?

Do they affect steering smoothness in anyway?

How much did ya hafta pay additionally?

    Bad Luck City 09

Honda city has lost its market share and giving a big room to xli corollas becuz of the pathetic new city. The model should have been better than previous one to give tough time to xli but infact due to their bad shaped model, grey pathetic interior, high price then xli , low resale value, less space then xli, high price of spare parts, high maintenance cost, people are reluctant to buy all new city 09.

With due respect to all those who have the all new city!! i must say its a big failure. I personally liked the 2001's model of city alot, and infact that was a great hit model. Since then the last two models of city was a failure. Performance wise City is expected to be good car, but else wise it not appealing.!!!

Whatever the positive people says about City 09, their selling figure shows the sucess/unsucess.

Bad luck City 09. Try Next time!!!

While travelling between Pindi and Islamabad I see a maximum of 1 or 2 Honda city cars only. Whereas number of corollas are on the increase. Its poor planning on part of Hoda Pakistan that they chose black interior without checking the market trend. They also excluded few standard items like hi mounted rear brake light etc. A honda rep told me that few people in the top slots never get customer feed back from them and take decisions on their own. If something is suggested , they are snubbed so they prefer to keep shut.

Well, my City 09 AT is due in a couple of days and I will also share my experience with u all.

Hi all, finally i got my City AT a couple of days back and here is what I think bot it:

    The Good

    1. Drive is a real pleasure. I hardly wanna get out of the car.

    2. Exterior is sooooo good. And it looks great in its white outfit.

    3. Cabin is very very quiet and it adds to the overall drive pleasure.

    4. AC is very good......even if parked in direct sunlight, it takes a couple of minutes to bring the temp down.

    5. Cabin is spacious enough......I dont know if it is more spacious than GLi or not......but I found the space well managed.

    6. Trunk is also very spacious..........again no comparison with GLi as I dont know the dimensions of trunk.

    7. I really like the free space under rear seat..........it just gives the feeling of more space......donno if it wud have any utility or not.

    8. I liked the idea of having the speaker in doors......and all four of 'em.

    9. The seats are very well designed.......your posture doesnt let u get exhausted even during long journeys.

    10. Steering wheel looks awesome this time.

    11. Interior looks good in black and silver combo. Most of the ppl are though feeling hard to digest it.

    12. There is no unwanted sound in car (so far). I mean no sound of anything being loose or something.

    13. The entire doors are so properly designed/fitted.........u can close the door with a slight push. Well, this is what Honda is specialised in.

    14. I really liked the rear door opening at the angle of 90. Makes it easy to get in and out.

    The Bad

    1. Very cheap materials have been used in interior and workmanship also is not good.

    2. Floor carpet is loose.....imo it should be fixed tightly......donno if i'm rite or rong.

    3. The car audio system lacks aux input and remocon which is such a STUPID act on the part of Honda.

    4. Two rear speakers are also missing. Such a shame!

    5. Radio antenna is removable which is not a good idea rather not even an idea at all.

    6. The fuel tank lid lock mechanism works well but whats the point in deviating from the standards if it doesnt add any value?

    7. No light in trunk.......A downer again!

    8. No alloy rims.........not even in AT model.

    9. The coolant bottle is wierdly placed.......donno how to check/fill it.

I might be adding/even deleting points from the list above as my experience grows with it.

Conslusion: I liked the overall experience. The bad points start fading the moment I start driving........the drive pleasure shadows everything. Really!

So, for now, I'm a fan! To everyone who compares it with GLi and hates it by just looking at the pics or at the showroom.......I wud say 'go drive it for once'

Hey guys - Mashallah got my new
    City i-vtec (MT)
few days back - n i think its pretty damn good! - was hearing a few, maybe quite a lot, 'cons' than 'pros' about this car - was always recommended towards XLI - but i wanted city - though drove both before final decision, and we clearly had a winner -

have a few observations that i'd like to share:

    Pros:

looks awesome (i named it 'optimus prime' as in transformers ), drive is clearly clearly quality + performance oriented - started a love affair with the black interior - mind boggling acceleration on a 1.3 engine (gives me hope ) and sounds roaring as well - spacious enough - comfy - the instrument panel and steering are coooool - really quiet cockpit specially when idle and zero vibration of engine in idle - Air con is goood plus powerful throw of fans - (dont make fun of me on this one but its true that..) it smells like a normal new car as compared to xli/gli which has the smell of decomposing rats kept in nail polish in plastic drums

    Cons:

fuel avg is not so good yet, but have heard it get's on its toes in a few K's (just 280km driven in a week) - suspension slightly hard, with minor road noise travel in the cockpit (maybe due to the stock tyres) - crap tyres - one of my least favourite 'golf ball gear lever' - the door speakers are just not up to par - the alpine mp3 head unit again not upto par - removable antenna - dash material quality is unsatisfactory, but will do - rear wind screen has not such a nice view of outside from the inside, which gives difficulty in reverse, but its not that bad either - engine has a rough behaviour after 3 to 3.5 rpm, feels quiet and smooth below that, maybe this makes it exciting and tempting - toolkit is seriously crap quality - carpet is thin and has a slight cheap feel to it - installing CNG voids the warranty??? well... not confirmed but have heard from you guys.. please add to it..

    unexploited goodies:

    - G-con technology, I need time to figure out what is this, though on paper, i've read it all, which says geforce control, but dont get the point of it being there, else it would've been easy to understand if it were a nissan skyline r35 . The only thing I noticed is it absorbs sideways geforces in corners or swift manouvers. I need a little help here guys..

    - ABS EBD brake assist: got all the goodies to stop, but havent tested em brakes hard enuf.

    Missing Stuff:

Fog light spaces in front bumper, rear stop lamp, boot lamp, muffler/exhaust stainless steel tip, back door speakers (grills are there), remote controller for the alpine mp3, alloy rims (well negotiable) - all in comparison to price, not any xli gli city civic thing..

But all in all Drive is a pleasure, dont wanna get out, no sign of strain except for reverse head turn viewing - and aaahh the AC is great - loving it - therefore lets one forget the 'cons' and the missing stuff, and lets you relax and do the job of driving.

will add to it when i discover more about it, meanwhile check the pics out guys!

^^^Masha ALLAH Congratulation, nice choice borther(Y), after the new price XLI is no match for city(Y) and i purchased auto city on old price , did u got it on new price or old?

Anyways the missing stuff u posted i agree wid u 100% that this stuff should be included in the package and if alloy rims are not included in all models it should be atleast in the auto version. But Honda has started to suck like Toyota, come on yaar yeh bhi koi baat hai k boot lamp aur front map light nahn hai(N)(N)(N)(N)(N).

Also tell me r u planning to put new wheels plus tiers in it or not.

BTW: Why is this city's fan club so inactive, come on people share ur rides and ur mods on rides. Cheers

I'm also a fan! have been driving it since 2 months now. done around 2000kms. Don't feel lik egetting out of the car.. really.. awesome drive, soundless cockpit, beautiful optitron orange meter, jet black dash.. amazing.. i don't think GLi's interior is any better, it's just beige. the silver panels start to fade away in 2 weeeks ( personal experience). there are a few htings missing in this car as mentioned earlier, but what the heck!? it's a pure driver's car, and it looks staggering with good alloy rims. All in all a pleasure to drive... gets better after 2000-5000kms... loving the city! corolla is just no match! btw, i beat the steermatic thrice in a mile drag race. easily gives 3-4 cars gap awesome thing this car is!

    @ All haters.

ive read the whole thread in last one hour and seriously i am now convinced to buy one as i was looking to buy a car in 1300cc class and no doub the winner is Honda City. surprised? let me xplain.

1... if we consider the price tag of a M/T one, atleast we get to have our hands over some quality engine rather than 1.3vvti which is an absolute failure in corolla (bigger body-lighter engine)

2... exterior quality superb as compared to corolla

3... definite abt better quality than corolla as far as dash/seats are concerned.

4... if u look closely, the front end is designed to have no fog lamps rather than corolla, which actually has the space but does not provide one.

5... plz correct me if im wrong, lower class corolla does not come with ABS n stuff, plus if we think G-Con technology is of no use? trust me it helps once u r in serious accidental conditions.

6... boot lamp? rear speakers? tyres? etc etc? plz ppl, try to spend a few bucks after getting ur car out of the showroom, or infact, again correct me if im wrong, corolla does provise a 17inches low profile wid bridgestone tyres.. innit?

7... if i wud hav to buy one on cash, i wud have gone for a 2005-2006 civic or something like that in imported stuff, but ppl, we need to understand that no matter wat this is wat we have and this is wat we have to buy unless our dad's is nxt to Bill Gates or Donald Trumph.

8... a frnd here suggested that if we have to buy such crap in 13K than lets spend a few more grands and get the new civic, dude, a few more grandz as in 5-600K more? thats a lot of money, atleast for ppl like me it is... and even if we buy a full option civic of something like 20,00,000 or probably more than that? check out thai or indian civic.. and lets start a fight over at wat are we getting in 20,00K and wat are they getting. and plus, if we the proude Pakiz are ready to pay 550K for a crap like mehran, 650K for a DABBA like bolan and 750K for a under powered **** like ALTO, plz ppl city justifiz its price tag.

My other options were liana eminent, lancer 1.3 M/T GLX and nissan sunny 1.3 ES M/T..... lancer is out of question as ive heard that one can only use genuine parts in mitsubishi unlike others where we can use guard filters and stuff so at the end, higher price tag for maintainance. nissan sunny? no doubt a nice car but with a hell less resale value and consider it or not, we ppl are bothered abt resale as God Forbids "tim aik sa nahin rahta" who knows when we need a cash back.

    SUGGESTIONS/COMMENTS/CRITISIM.

@sahhil_22: nice & wise choice i agree with u on all the points except point no.6 as i believe they should have atleast given the features which were provided in the previous city like arm rest for driver, rear bootlamp........but still the looks & engine is strong enough to compensate for these small things ........i also got my city 09 day b4 yesterday and i just love its drive......i have Gli,City08 but the driving comfort of City 09 is very gud.....steering is sooper soft than the previous city and i was more than happy with its steerin too.......overall nice review (y)

    @shaheel_shael.....

    nice ride, mashAllah.

first of all, being a medicine graduate, i exactly do not know the proper discription for it, as it has physicxs involved in it but the G-Con technology Honda provided is, in case of an accident (God Forbids), the vehicle's frame(from front and rear) actually absorbs most of the impact force, thus, lessening the amount of shock being delievered to the passengers and the driver so that they shudnt suffer from any sort of shock injury.

@RatedR: With City 1.3ivtec i can accept that it can beat steermatic. How ever lemme know whether yours is manual or auto. Remember that steermatic though quite powerful in 1.5 category is still automatic tranny that has its limitations in the initial launch.

Anyway I think new city is doing good in sales especially after the price reduction and due to the fact that people have to some extent accepted the interior.
