My civic was doing good but yesterday the AC started giving me sweat when i used it. even at night it was not working properly & just throwing normal air.
I went to a mechanic, he told me that gas is low, he filled the gas but it got even worse. Then he wanted to dismantle the Compressor & service it, but i refused to get it done.
I went to a 2nd mechanic. He also told me that he will check the gas but i insisted that gas is ok.
He just bypassed the thermostat so that AC should not trip. then he waited to see if the release valve in compressor releases the gas if the gas pressure becomes high due to any blockage, but it didnt release. so he commented that the compressor is OK.
Then he opened up the inner Evaporatoe/ freezer and pulled out the filter installed in it. It was literally muddy & wet.
Then the AC started working fine. The problem was that the Thermostate coil was touching the wet surface of the filter & as the muddy substance on filter cooled off too quicly the AC used to trip as the thermostate coil touching it would think that the temperature has gone down & turns off the AC.
Simply separating the coil from filter & changing the filter solved my problem & its back to chilling.
Just posted for others to protect them from lousy mechanics who would always try to F*** around.
