Default Advise required - CNG consumption of civic exi prosmatec

    aoa to all PWs!

I need advice/ expert opinion regarding CNG mileage of my 2005 civic exi (prosmatec) which has gone down after every passing week.first, some background of the issue.

It all started approx 8 month ago, when i decided to get my CNG kit and 55 kg cylinder cleaned (although i was not having any issues).since then, its cng consumption has gone from 100+ to 80/85 and now around 70/75 km ( i dont use AC that much and try to keep it below 2500 rpm, and no hard revving)

in Rwp, i have gone to 5 to 6 CNG mechs, they all have tried there 'todkas' with confidence without any result at all and loss of money as well. following things already done a number of times.
    a. general CNG tuning ( gas pressure/ air flow/ adjusment).experiments done from either keeping them too low to too high as well with no advantage
    b. throttle body/ map sensor cleaning twice from different mechs.
    c. tappet setting.
d installation of automatic screw for gas adjustment (mech told me that this device is connected with emulator and after this no cng setting will be req..but no result either)
    e. cng leakage checking.
    f. spark plugs change twice.
    g. air filters of different quality thrice.

NOW, after all that , do you guys suggest that there is something else to be checked also. i mean all mechs say that this being a 1.5 lit car should easily do 120 km + in a cylinder in city driving (despite being auto tramsmission) but actually it is doing almost half

need desperate advice/ help or reference of a realy good mech of cng in rawalpindi. thanks

According to me, get ur kit changed. there might be trouble in ur kit. Consult a mechanic. and is ur mileage with ac in city or on highway?
yeah i have also done all the basic stuff..

but now i think its pointless to use cng since my car is running almost 35-40 kg less than it should normally do ( i.e atleast 110 km per cylinder in city)

possible issues have been highlighted in detail by @vadvaro

there is a possilibity tat my and ur car both mite have some or all the problems mentioned by him

bros... can u guys recommend me any good cng mechanic in rawalpindi who can check such issues in detail.

try cng mechanic aka "langra pathan". On murree road while heading towards murree when ou go past the railway bridge immediately on your left is a turning a complete car repair market. You can ask anyone, his shop is on this main road and almost at the end of the market.
"You have not lived today until you have done something for someone who can never repay you."

    on someones's recommendation...
i visited enercon cng setup in chaklala...rawalpindi..
checked all the pipes, connectors, gas filling point and cylinder for leakage...
dessembled the cng kit for possible damage inside or cleaning as well
flow of gas was kept to minimum possible range.

have finished 2 filled cylinders of cng in last two days ....
but still the consumption was quite dissapointing i.e. 87 & 92 kms only
(with minimum use of ACs, n throttle kept below 3000 rpm, acceleration being pathetic)

i cant understand the issue.. people say autos would consume more fuel/ gas
by a margin of 10 to 15 km approx

a friend of mine flies around in rwp in his vti oreil (manual) doing 140 -150 km easily everytime with AC...

compared to mine . ... i think its a complete rip off for me
(around 40 km less driving compared to a 1600 cc variant)

    @all

all this effort is being done to achieve at least 110 km per cylinder (which is quite modest for a normal 1500 cc car)

members having 7th gen prosmatic (exi/vti) may share their cng consumption stats for camparison..

moreover, is there any CNG guru in saddar, rawalpindi or surrounding areas

bhai mere. i have a honda city 04 and have the same problem as you.

One additinal detail, when i press the race the car takes a while to pick up. i.e. the race is sluggish in second gear .

I have a feeling it may have somethign to do with our advancer. a year ago, my car was having teh same issue and a mechanic told me taht due to my advancer, one of my engine chambers was not working at all. he repaired my advancer and the car got all its power back instantly.

i am planning to change my advancer in a day or 2. i will let you know if it solves the problem. if you get a solution before that, i will be highly obliged if you share it with me .

Also, can anyone here tell me how much a good advancer would cost?
    and if its easily replaceable?

    Regards,
    Zeeshan Mir

Sad to hear that you still have not overcome the problem .I was you, one of the option I would try is to change the kit (if you have any other car in home or any friend who might lend you on weekend) with advancer and emulator for couple of days to see if that makes any difference. Anything less than 120km/fill is simply too much for 1.5l AT car.

    bro thanks for the concern

    - regarding leakage .. got it checked by mechs who use the method of applying soap water on all likely points . . moreover i used to check the needle guage installed with the cylinder once the car is not in use , just to ensure tat there is no leakage. other wise it should go down slowly whether the car is running or not.

    - is there a possibility of leakage during running ? i mean once driving maybe some part of cng vibrates with the engine and let the gas go ?????

    - me using shell engine oil since ages (yellow one)
    - disc brakes recently changed with new 'nissin' ones
    - drive on petrol is perfect. my rough estimation is tat petrol use mite be more economical than cng . .which is quite strange
Hi there..... here is what i experienced in my car:
I had been suspecting a cng leakage in my car as well & consulted a mechanic. He as in ur case, checked the leakage using the soap soln. thingy, nothing was found.
A few days later, on my way to college, i smelld strong cng smell inside the car, & the car stopped (yeah, though undetected by the mechanic; leakage was there) And then upon getting it checked, the gage inside the hood (that shows pressure) was faulty and was replaced. Alhamdulillah, the problem has been solved since then...

I have civic 99 manual & it goes 200+- kms with A/C on highway (55lbs cylinder).
my bet is that ur advancer is gone. simply borrow one.
in case of gas leakage ur pick & speed should not drop , only mileage should b affected.

    @WasX
    tat is not a possibility...
    ..engine is in optimum condition..
    ..no radiator boiling/ leakage
..no smoke of any kind on cng/petrol
    ...no reduction in engine oil
..no change of engine oil colour

in fact mileage on petrol is pretty good i.e 10 to 12 km/l
