    Default 9th gen Civic: Ownership Experience

    Today, April 29, I finally got my 9th gen Civic Oriel Prosmatic, delivered after a long wait of over two months.

    9th gen Civic Ownership Experience -1206391
    Picture from day-one:

    I upgraded from 8th gen Civic that I enjoyed for almost two years.

    I am opening this thread to keep a record of modifications I make and share my experience with the car throughout the time this remains with me.

    Wow...Your car is an epic...Those full tinted red lights give the car that classy look which everyone admires...Weren't you interested to go for some sport tyres for your beast like Yokohama C-Drive or Dunlop SP Sport 9000?

    Thank you very much....yes the back-lights look good in red on white........this time I went for Continental as tyres of choice and I am liking these very much after having driven the car for some 3000 kms.......these seem bit more comfortable than the Yokohama Decible in my 8thgen...................

    Today....I bought the spoiler and sent it for paint job......will get it installed on Monday and will post some new pics with spoiler.......

    Bro, the same thing occurred on my dads civic, problem started the very second day. It got stuck on aux, and then nothing short of disconnecting the battery shuts down the navig system. Same issue, even after you take put the key, and lock the car. And yes you're right, he also narrowed down the issue to Bluetooth (with iPhone). And same band aid fix, keep resetting or switching off the BT.

    However, my civic is slightly newer than my dad's (his got delivered in mid April, mine got delivered about a month ago). I have been constantly using the Bluetooth and everything, mashAllah never had any issue of hangups, not responding etc. My phone is an HTC.

    There is a fix for the hangups. Haven't tried it yet myself, but you could look into it. Search for the 9th gen fan club, gp to the posts from the past one week, you ll find a fellow pw member discussing about the fix.

    Thank you for sharing your Dad's experience........now my car was also delivered Apr 28 and actually was manufactured in that very same week.......Initially I was using the Bluetooth with My Galaxy Note II without a problem.......this happened when I changed my cell and opted for Galaxy S4 and the problem started.......may be there is some issue with the cell not having backward compatibility or something.......I am busy now-a-days.......but plan to consult Honda Atlas guys over this in coming days......there must be a firmware upgrade........

    No bro try these 2 which I suggested you...Yoko C-Drive or Dunlop SP Sport 9000 coz these have superb handling capabilities wet or dry!!!

    I bet the Continentals would not be good in handling coz the tread pattern looks more like a comfy tyre rather than a sports tyre with less grip!!!

    Took the words right out of my mouth. Turning Econ mode off makes a world of a difference.
    Even the performance of the AC gets better. (Read it somewhere on website, & then experienced it as well)

    Not only that but I have also noticed that switching econ mode off does not drastically affect consumption when driving inside Islamabad. In congested places like Rawalpindi, the econ mode behaves much better. After driving some 3500kms on econ, I am hardly using it now.....? but it's good that it's there...

    I may have to disagree on this. My uni (RMC) is in the worst part of Rawalpindi. I tried driving with econ off for a couple of days but the average dropped to 9km/l. Whereas with the econ, it remains between 11-12km/l. So econ is totally a blessing for me :p Whereas in Islamabad, it's a completely different story.

    Nissan
    Lancer
    BMW
    Mercs

    All come in same shape with different engine capacities.

    rite now we r talking in pakistan ...like HONDA is offering 1.3 ,1.5 in city , and next caetegory is CIVIC 1.8 . u can feel a hell difference in city,s and civic drive , where as civic is totally different story .

    now come to corolla , XLI,s drive is the same as ALTIS , same cockpit same seating position , now ALTIS is not rival to CIVIC , its rival to CITY aspire 1.5, for example below

    merc c class -------> ALTIS
    merc E class -------> CIVIC

    Size wise, no.
    Altis is the same length as civic, but a little wider.
    Engine wise, yes!

    Although mercs are much better, but still, your point is valid.

    & yeah! How did corolla discussion end up on a 9th gen civic forum? :-P
