    Default civic 97 starting problem

    Hi guys.The problem with my civic is that when i start it in morning it does not respond at all for few seconds and then again the orange engine light turns on in the meter.After few seconds it starts in a half self and the engine light remains on(but in normal case it should turns off).I then again turn off the engine and start it again and then it starts in a normal way without orange engine indication.What could be the reason for this?

    I am facing this problem for almost last 6 days.

    @sxtreem
    Did you change timing belt recently? What is the mileage ? Starting problem comes on CNg as well? How does the car behave while starting other than morning?

    I asked these questions coz i have been going through same kind of problems.

    The yellow light indicates a problem that has been detected by the ECU. Is the problem with CNG or petrol? If it does not happen on petrol then you need to get the CNG setting checked. If it happens on both petrol and CNG then you should take it to the Honda dealership. They will connect it to a computer and find out what is causing the problem.

    As the kit is efi so it starts on petrol every time.The car starts perfectly after morning (starting first time).Someone said to me that u should not make self unless ur orange light is off and it turns off after few seconds when i turn onn the switch he said that this light is turned on to show that the oil has circulated throughout nd when it turns off it means that the oil circulation process is complete.

    i dont know exactly if it is right or wrong.
    But when i start the car with this procedure then i face this problem.otherwise if i directly start the car ,it gets started perfectly.

    That yellow light has nothing to do with oil. It is the ECU light which checks the EFI system to make sure everything is ok. If the light goes out then it means everything is fine. If it does not then it means there is a problem somewhere. You should always wait for the light to go out before starting the car.
