we'll @OK and zen and a few others around and about. let me tell you that civic was never a sports car alright. it's a mid-sized family sedan. get it!!!! honda has a sports car named s2000 and also nsx(Acura, a subsidary of Honda). get real folks!!!!
if it ever were a sports car it would've had dual exhuast, and would have been a two door. infact Honda has a sportier Civic Si and a Civic Sports Coupe. these two can be termed semi-sports vehicles, but not entirely.
Honda had ECT world over 5years back. actually it was electronically controlled 4-speed auto with Grade Logic Control, known as Prosmatec!
Everyone complained about Honda City , but look now, honda city is selling like hot cakes. And Honda offers alot given the price range of it's vehicles everywhere, even in Pakistan to some extent. In Pakistan Honda Atlas had already introduced stuff like ABS, EBD,Brake Assist, and Vtec engines since 2001, so it's not a big deal that toyota has introduced a few now!
All-new 1.8-liter i-VTEC 4-cylinder engine with advanced valve control technology
140 horsepower @ 6300 rpm and 128 lb-ft. torque @ 4300 rpm
30/40 mpg city/highway (automatic transmission)

Drive-by-Wire Throttle Control system
This time around we will get a complete version , as a matter of fact we only don't get air bags and cruise control, the rest is already in the bag, so why bragg about neddlessly?
Toyota Corolla doesn't have good road visibility at all, ask anyone, where as Civic offers a more panoramic view with a wide angle cycle.
