The Beijing Auto Show is going to see a lot of new metal to kick start the 2010 auto buying year, one of the new models is going to be the electric Lavida sedan from Shanghai VW. The Lavida was initially launched as a self developed car built in cooperation between SAIC and VW for the Chinese market, it came in 1.6, 2.0L and the range topping 1.4TSI, however a new model will be joining the line up soon: The pure electric Lavida.
The gasoline Lavida has already proved its worth in the Chinese market with sales already being quite high for a relatively new vehicle, the introduction of a further electric version is only going to push up sales even higher.
The electric Lavida will launch at the Beijing Auto Show next month, but a future launch date has yet to be announced, although it is likely that the electric Lavida will be used in some extent during the 2010 World Expo in Shanghai which starts in a few weeks time.
