The 2016 Q3 adopts the new Audi single-frame grille that was first shown on the redesigned Audi Q7, and takes up a slightly more modern appearance overall. The headlights are also redesigned with new LED accents, and the reshaped LED taillights round out the mostly unnoticeable changes to the Q3’s rear end.
The interior continues on virtually unchanged, and we’re a bit surprised that Audi did not put its new MMI infotainment interface into the 2016 Q3. It soldiers on with the slightly dated version of MMI that does without the newer system’s touchpad and improved control interface.

Apart from the appearance changes, Audi has also revised the 2016 Audi Q3’s powertrain offerings, which, in Europe, include a whole range of gasoline and diesel engines between 1.4- and 2.5-liters. The 2.0T gasoline four-cylinder that’s currently the only engine offered in the U.S.-market Q3 gains 20 hp for a total of 220, and now mates with a six-speed DSG transmission as opposed to the current Q3’s traditional six-speed automatic. We don’t know yet whether the 2016 Audi Q3 will gain a diesel option for the U.S., but if so, the 2.0 TDI engine found in numerous other Volkswagen/Audi products is a likely bet.
