I am excited about this launch as it is a homegrown product reaching out to a world market. Let's see what the car actually looks like as Mahindra Motor has been very successful in keeping the final product from prying eyes as of date. The launch date is getting near so we might see more visuals of the all new Mahindra XUV500 sports utility vehicle. Meanwhile, here's a view of the XUV500 website and related story.

Mahindra recently unveiled the XUV500 (pronounced XUV '5 double Oh'), which showcases many firsts for the Indian carmaker.
Mahindra states that the XUV500 is its first SUV platform designed and developed for the global market. It's also the automaker's first SUV constructed on a unibody frame, which should provide passengers with more of a car-like ride compared to its other SUV offerings built on a traditional body-on-frame chassis. Mahindra hopes the XUV500 will appear to a wider range of customers, especially those labeled as Generation X.
"We are all set to create a new milestone with the launch of the Mahindra XUV500 which truly embodies and encapsulates the essence of the Mahindra Rise philosophy," said Dr. Pawan Goenka, President, Automotive & Farm Equipment Sectors, M&M Ltd. "Having extensively tested and validated our product with global and Indian customers alike, I am happy to add that we will simultaneously launch the XUV500 in South Africa under the same brand name. I am confident that the XUV500 will follow in the footsteps of its illustrious predecessors to evolve into an iconic brand."
The XUV500 will join Mahindra's SUV family that currently includes the Bolero, Scorpio, and Xylo. Mahindra is currently the leader in India's SUV segment, with a market share of 60.5 percent.
