your next target should be this.
Thank you for your suggestion. I have already explored the shops in Islamabad for the LCDs which would look appropriate in Laadli. The one that you have suggested looks good .. so let me search for these.

What do you think of this 10" LCD for the back seats ...

I was very apprehensive about this sticker ... I held the sticker in my hand for several minutes, thinking again and again .. whether to apply it or not.

I had my first car in 1981 when I was in 9th Class ... since then, I have had so many cars, but I never put any sticker. Of course, I have loved all of my cars, but if you must have read in preceding pages, the case of Laadli, is actually based on my friend's PhD research on "Emotions of metals" ... It is based on the assumption that vehicles should be treated as persons. I have my particular mindset about car. I am a human being, I do get tired while driving intercity, but I never let anyone drive my car. It is my experience that whenever somebody else drives your car, something goes wrong, even if the other driver is a very good one.

I think, the "Cutie Sixy Sixy" sticker should stay. It is part of the identity of Laadli

Of course, it is your decision ...

I have used CNG vehicles both personal and official ... it has been my observation that in Pakistan specific scenario, where the availability of CNG is questionable, the cars develop an "attitude" about the type of fuel. Cars run only on CNG develop various problems i.e. deposits in the combustion chamber, and drying up of rubber parts in fuel pumps, etc. Their ignition timing has to be set for EITHER petrol or CNG.

The best thing about my experience with CNG in Laadli is that the ignition timing is not an issue. The ignition timing is change when you switch between fuels.

As you must have observed, I keep the fuel tank FULL at all times. For filling an empty tank, I get ten litres of Hi Octane, and the rest is filled with Premium Petrol. This mixture works very well.

Even when there is no "CNG Loadshedding", I run my car on petrol one day in every week. This helps against deposition of carbon residue in the combustion chambers, and protects against any damage to the engine.

It must be understood that CNG powered engines have shorter life than those run on gasoline. So, in order to achieve good results in terms of fuel cost economy and the life of the engine, it is best to use CNG for six days a week, followed by one day on gasoline.

I belong to Lahore and Gujranwala. Whenever I go to the hometown, I drive to Lahore on CNG, and drive back on gasoline. The reason is that the CNG in Lahore and Islamabad is different. Islamabad's CNG has very high BTU (British Thermal Unit) value, than the CNG available in Lahore and surrounding areas.

The change in type of CNG with respect to different cities becomes and issue. The CNG settings have to be changed with different CNG type. In order to avoid this, I consume the CNG from Islamabad on travel to Lahore, run my car on gasoline in Lahore and on the way back. This surely saves the visit to a CNG mechanic in Lahore for changing the settings, and also gives an opportunity to run the car on gasoline for extended period of time, which is good for the car's engine life.

So ... the mashwara, please go ahead with CNG installation. Since you are in Lahore, as per my elder brother's suggestion, please go to Toyota Kot Lakhpat for CNG installation. According to my brother, their CNG mechanic is simply marvelous.

Earlier we had discussion on TPMS installed in Laadli. I just came across the TPMS offered by Toyota Singapore as accessory for their Toyota Altis

The sensors are much smaller than the ones installed in my car

these look like the nozzle cover type TPMS sensors. one can loose them pretty easily as people in pakistan have a bad habit of taking anything they like from ur car if they can. and also since they keep the valve pressed all the times, they are more susceptible to leakage

    Very true Bhai ...

I just checked the website for details. This type of sensors have a battery life of 1 year, after which they need replacement due to smaller battery size. They cost about US$ 8 each.

So I think our Taiwanese Royceed TPMS is much better than the one offered by Toyota Singapore.

An observation: - While returning from Lahore on Tuesday, I was near Lalamusa, where the TPMS alarm buzzed and the screen started flashing in red. The temp of one of wheels showed temperature of 131 degrees, while the other three showed 33-35 degrees. I stopped the car, and in just a couple of seconds, the reading became accurate again i.e. about 34 degrees.

First things first ... As a Metallurgist, what do you think about emotions of metals?

Eyes for Laadli ... I love Angel Eyes ... but contrary to what their name suggests, the outlook of the car totally changes after installation. The cars give a shrewd and cunning look. Whereas, Laadli's image is built around simplicity, uniqueness, innocence and hidden high tech potential. I think if I install the Angel Ayes, Laadli's outlook will change totally.

Headlights are the eyes of a car, and just like the human eyes, they depict the overall image and character of the person.

Whereas, Laadli's image is built around simplicity, uniqueness, innocence and hidden high tech potential. I think if I install the Angel Ayes, Laadli's outlook will change totally.

Headlights are the eyes of a car, and just like the human eyes, they depict the overall image and character of the person.

sir i think same as ur friend does, as he is a Ph.D holder, my knowledge and emotions will not be as good as his.
I think not only for metals i think about everything, i place myself on that thing's place and then realise,,, sorry my english is just........... hope u will get my words what i wanted to say

coming to the topic of ladli's eyes i think you are right eyes represent the character of a person, then they should be simple as they are now.... and yeah rims are looking awesome someone said here that these are not good but according to me they are best for ladli

    hay dear Ladli owner
am amazed with what u are doing , its pure sence of style and innovation.
u did a very good job infact i went through all u did with Ladli, like that ipod, the fridge was amazing idea, the music system and drums, utilizing space,
soooo two things come into mind
one GLI ur choice will be a great car
    and second is confusion

    am a bit confused about
how u get time for such kinda activities
how far will u go with more innovations
and why not u choose a Toyota Axio Fielder .
for more space and duribility same as GLI

Last night, my metallurgist friend was here with me. I told him that I am publicizing his research on the net, so he needs to buy me ice cream ... at least!

No worries about English ... hamaray kaun say baap dada ki zubaan hai

I am so happy to know about your comments on the rims. They are part of the outlook that I wanted. I think I checked out perhaps several hundred designs ... but when I saw these rims ... I decided in a nanosecond.

Ever since my childhood, I have always looked at cars as representative of a person's face. Just the way I look at a person's eyes, I get to know the history and the character of the person. I have not learnt the technique, but I just get a strong gut feeling, which is almost always correct. Same goes with the eyes of a car.

Bhai ... You have touched my raw nerve

I always thought, for a person like me, the length of a day should be at least 48 hours I sleep for very little time, have to do a million things every day, have very large number of friends, I am addicted to movies and music, other addictions being the internet, tv, long phone calls, reading books.... over and above my very busy office life, and life as a member of a family.

Since time is a fixed variable, I have make room for everything that I want to do. I am not always fully successful, but I try to do everything ... I dont miss out sending birthday cards. My extended family is spread in several cities, and I have to fulfill the family commitments. Nevertheless, I have the honour of being known as "the best officer" in my office. I am not showing off, but this is how I manage my life. As is clearly evident, this is all a clear recipe for health disasters

Your suggestion about Axio .... its true, it comes with lots of electronics ... I have lived in Japan, and I know the psyche of the nation being obsessed by electronics. To my mind, it does not really matter which car I am using. I just add the personal touch, be it a 1951 M38, or a Range Rover Vogue ... all the cars that I had, they carried my personal touch and care.

As you might have notices in a previous page ... with my Ford Mercury .. that car was a nightmare to maintain. No parts were available. Yet, I kept it in much better shape than it was manufactured by the Lincoln Mercury Division.

This is rather an easy project .. it is easy to get the parts within and outside Pakistan.

Haan naa! Ab hamari English jaisi bhi hai, kam az kam, we manage to express our ideas without inundating the others through the exuberance of our verbal verbosity

Not only the rims ... take a look at the photos once again .. it gives the image of a rich, pampered, innocent yet graceful, and majestic baby

Do take a look again, and tell me how you feel...

@ Shahbaz Bhai ... since you believe in "emotions of metals", why dont you share some technicalities behind the concept.

I am not a technical person, but as my friend explained, there are structural changes evident within the molecular structure when the object is stressed. Is there anything more beyond that?

bro i cant tell u much bcoz my university is started since 3rd jan 2011 and im in 1st year 1st term so at this time we have basic subjects in our syllabus as pak studies, islamiat engineering materials, computer etc, but as i have some knowledge and this not only concerns with metals but all materials we use which is "there is a critical point of bearing strength, now if u apply force greater than that point deformation will occur in the molecular structure hence the whole metal will be ruined".
in a nut shell there is nothing beyond the molecular structure and it deforms at certain conditions
