i was telling a wise guy on forums, brand new parts (genuine) of Honda and Corolla would be more or less the same in price.
but he kept on insisting Toyota parts are dirt cheap
Life is short and very unpredictable just like a Quarter mile .....

You could have saved a material amount of money by sourcing the parts yourself from open market and just paying labour charges to Toyota.
I used to want to change the world. Now I just want to leave the room with a little dignity.

That is estimate for 80k work Not that i have gotten it done. Secondly if one is paying 250 or 300 extra for a part but it is guaranteed that it is genuine Toyota part. From open market NO one knows what he is getting. secondly it is a headache roaming markets buying stuff then going getting it installed.

What I did at the 45 K check up was just replace the fluids (break, power steering, transmission) and ac check up and gas charging.

This time I would go for break check up only and if needed replacement would replace.

At 90K I will change all fluids and check for belts etc.

Oil and filters, spark plugs I change at my regular service station. Using Petromin Ultra 7. I source the plug from Hamza Younis auto Rawalpindi.

Sadly, yes 66K is insane for a periodic checkup. There are thousands of 80K + even 100K + Corollas still going strong.

Only thing different is the fan belts and ac belts etc for the 80k rest is same as 40k. and as per me they are subject to inspection if they are okay condition they might not need to be replaced. but One should get it done because engine sound will be reduced and things will be smooth.

Insane, the entire 80,000 km maintenance stuff.

    Isn't it.

I would get all this done within 6000 rs from local mechanic.

Toyata's dot 4 fluid won't be any different from the one available from local market dot 4 fluid.

Zic steering oil and what else.

brother are you sure they will carry out all those maintenance that they are charging you for? My friend had very bad experience with Toyota Garden Motors. He went for his xli scheduled maintenance and they also showed him a list like this. A few days after work was done his car started moving to left while braking. He checked with toyota again and they said that tyres need alignment. He showed them the list from few days earlier and it said that tyres alignment had been done and asked them why did they charge him if work wasnt done. My friend made a scene and the manager came and said that they didnt have blah blah so they would have done the alignment on the next check and not charge for it. So my friend asked that until next check I am supposed to drive my car with out of alignment wheels? The manager had no explanation and refunded the money for alignment. This made him suspicious of the other work done and the first thing he got checked were the spark plugs. He showed 2 local mechanics who both said that spark plug was in good condition but was far from being brand new. HE stopped getting his work done from Toyota after this.

IMO you cannot just give the car and pay the money and expect all the work on the list to be done as these service centers are not honest at all. IMO you have got the list of things that need to be changed. Go to Toyota walton and buy all those items. Then go to a reliable mechanic and get them replaced one by one infront of your own eyes.
