Default 2014 Toyota Corolla Altis Grande

    Salam members,

Let me introduce you to my new car. After six months of waiting i booked this car at Toyota Capital Motors Islamabad on 18th July, 2014. Initially they gave me an approximate delivery date of second week of August but i got a call from them just 3 days before Eid that my car was here. My Salute to them !!

Of course it was not an easy decision as i had to choose between Honda Civic VTi Oriel MT (2,253,000 PKR) and this Toyota Corolla Altis Grande MT(2,149,000 PKR). As both car makers have a longstanding reputation for delivering reliable and fuel-effcient family sedans. But finally i opted for this particular variant as it offers the best value for money and for the following reasons:

1.8 Altis Grande comes with the standard features like: Bucket Leather Seats (Softex Material), 8" Android based LCD with Navigation and Rear View Camera and Reclining back seats. Moreover, this relatively new Engine 2 ZR-FE is more responsive and fuel efficient as it comes equipped with SFi (Sequential Fuel Injection) and ACIS (Acoustic Controlled Induction System).

If it is not too much trouble could you post the pictures of speedometer at night ?
Also are the front lights of yellow tinge or blue ?
Sorry for the bad image. I tried my best but the light was scattering a lot. Photography has never been my strong point. Haha.
Secondly, the front light is yellow, no tinge of blue.

But like you i am hopeful this one is going to be as good as 7th Generation Corolla.

Sure, i will post the picture for you. Let me check that too.
True. That car felt right, it wanted to be driven.

That is a sweet colour, I like the dials, though in my opinion, all indicators (Handbrake, fuel , etc) should have been shifted to the centre LCD . I asked about the lights because I saw one with a blue tinge, but they were not HIDs but were stronger than ordinary blue bulbs.
    Thanks BTW

Believe me, the above picture (instrument cluster) is not doing justice to it. Yar, i think the MID is already displaying a lot of real-time information like:

    1. Odometer
    2. Trip-meter
    3. Outside Temp

Only one of these can be selected at a given time:
    4. Fuel Economy
    5. Elapsed Time
    6. Range (Cruising)
    7. Speed (Average) "The current Speed (digital format) is displayed in the Infotainment System"

    8. Right/Left Signal Indicators
    9. Warning Message ( Lights / Sunroof / Door & Trunk etc )

Moreover, I think in Auto Variant:
    10. Gear Position
    11. Eco lamp indicator

So, in order to avoid a "cluttered look" they might have not included all other indicators.

Just called the dealer, he says he has received the dispatch order of my vehicle and it will be here by this Monday
One question @hasan.danish, does the infotainment system in grande pick the wifi signals? Also, have you tried using evo on it? Do we need to install some software for that.

Currently I am confused whether to change the OEM rims and replace them with 16'' or not. Secondly, whether to go for the complete body kit or only the side skirts. I personally dont like the bumper extensions much. Another thing is how hard it would be to match the bronze mica color.

Insha Allah. That is really good. Yes it has wifi, I installed each and every thing on it using a Wifi connection. 3G enabled internet usb will be plug-n-play, no additional software would be required. No, i haven't but i know someone who tried it (Evo Usb).

Yar it all depends on your budget, if you running on a tight budget simply get the tyres replaced with (Yokohama/Michelin;195-65/R15) you will have to pay 13K-14K. Try not to go beyond 205 width-wise (my advice, rest its on you)

Now if you have moderate budget, go for the alloys as well (But try to buy branded ones), 15" or 16" ( your personal preference and budget)

If you are going for bodykit, the complete will look good, This time the shape is a bit different so only getting side skirts won't do the job properly. As long as its a good shop, paint matching won't be an issue (bronze mica is not a new colour, if i am not wrong, i have seen couple of 10 Gen corollas having this color).

Now if you are confused between alloys and bodykit, Go For Alloys. Hahah..., I hope this will be some help !!

I paid 62K for it and the number was of my own choice (Not a special number though). Get it registered on your own. The people at Toyota Capital Motors were asking me 80K.

Thank you. I would really love that. But do you know from where i can get an ELM 327 Bluetooth adapter ?? Plus this torque app, is it free or one has to pay an annual fee ? Looking forward to your help.
