Thread: Corolla 2000 annoying grinding noice in slow motion.

    Default Corolla 2000 annoying grinding noice in slow motion.

    I am tired to find the reason why my newly purchased car is producing annoying noise in motion. Car is corolla 2001 PDM 1.6 auto with 4afe engine. Grinding ( goonj) type of sound comming specially from front wheel side when car hit the road. That particular sound is loud when speed is between 15 - 40 km/hr. Sound is low in high gears. Tried 2 different mechanics and going to workshop since 3 days but no luck. So far mechanic done the following.

    1 - Checked the front wheels, mechanic says one bearing is faulty. to be on safe side i told him to change both the front one. Installed original japanes koyo..RS1300/bearing.

    2 - Excel (goday) was ok. All greased and fitted back.

    3 - Checked rear wheels, one hub was producing little sound, mechanic says grease sy thek ho jaey ga. So he greased it and fit it back with no noice.

    4 - Rear shocks was leaked so it was replaced with kyb shocks. Ride became more stable but grinding sound is still there.

    5 - ATF changed with ZIC ATF. Including opening of gear filter that was cleaned with kerosin oil and fitted back.

    2 - Engine mount checked. 2 was bad. Its rubbers is replaced with new.

    Now everything is fine in suspention but noise is still there. Help!!

    Check brake pads if they are hitting the rim, they could need tooling.

    I hope its not the metal shield behind tawa
    Saying cause i got car repaired.on drive was giving metal grind sound.
    Turned out to b thin metal shield behind tawa touching it
    Life is short and very unpredictable just like a Quarter mile .....

    Already checked today. Brakes pads are free. Changed 2 jamed brake pins and replaced worn out tiny boots :-)

    No its not. I got a feeling that grinding noise is coming from transmission. Unfortunatly it cant be checked easily. Only way to test it is replacement of whole transmission with kabuli one.

    The problem in pakistan is that peaople think if they had changed the ATF. (drained and refill) then it can last for dacades and donot follow the proper flush procedure then the damn valve body assy doesnt work properly and result in stress full drive which results in Different Symptoms le ATF over heating issue, improper Gear shifting, different noises like mentioned above and also different humming noises. So on first hand no one does any ustaddi to these vehicles as if they see the valve body assy they think that is from mars and servicing it will result in big blast and other thing so they ate limited to just servicing the oil induction filter. Thats it. But in these behicles cases they are equipped with accumulators pistons for diffrent purposes which had Rubber Seal Ribgs which worn out due to improper maintance and results in above mentioned problems so they need to be treated before damages start to grow more larger. The new cvt's gear boxes are state of the art technology but again here in pakistan no proper service procedure is followed. I had personally serviced these valve body assys and the end resulta are more than which we expected..

    Dont change it with scrap gear box just PM me I will personally inspect the vehicle and will help you with the problem soloution.

    That's Fact That No Proper Procedures Are Followed Beside These....The One Ustaadi's I AM Talking About Is That Shashkaa SHIFT's (SHifting Auto Trannies Like Manual D1 D2 ) Which Can Also Result In Mess Or Can Damage Transmission

    Bro its not ustadiii its the beggining of fun but to enjoy the fun you should know how to kill the beast with the right time shift or you are gone.     Kabuli transmission costs 15k. I am looking to resolve the echo without changing the transmission. Shifting is smooth i havent observe any problem in my car transmission.

    Could someone please confirms PK corrolla 1.6 auto 2000 model equiped with 4 forward or 5 forward? I guess my transmission is 5forward. 5th gear engaged after speed cross 80.

    Which gvs i a feel of gear change
