Default Cultus 1.5l (Baleno Engine) Experience.

Aoa, i recently blow my stalk engine of 2006 Cultus. The family car mechanic took me to the engine market in Sadar rwp where everyone recommended me to install a 1.5l efi engine. I was confused initially but today mark 2 months and i am deeply happy to share with you that its working quite brilliantly along with fine fuel consumption with AC within city. The Euro2 engine price was nearly 2 lac and the vxr-i costed in the market about 1.5 lac. This costed me about 98000. Now being an amateur dear friends please guide me what ad-on's can make my ride on real beast. Would love for your sincere advice's. Regards.

get decoration like they have on mini bus , a small shoe on the back , knight rider light on the front , stickers on the side ( gready , speedo , r type etc ) hooter , to start off

quite frankly this is the 1st swap in a late cultus that i have known off . the baleno gti came out with 1.6 gti engine , you must be referring to that 1500 plus...

what is your objective , obviously you solved one issue , getting a cheaper replacement engine. Plus ure getting decent feul economy with good power. Btw , how did the orignal engine get busted?

I thought Suzuki car engines were cheap. Prices are insane or you have been cleanly ripped off your pocket.

Sir, i don't know as i wrote. and i yes it is 1.6Gti engine. I think gasket and radiator blew. No water remaining in the radiator and the temp showing was stable. Actually my bad fault i should have stopped right there. By the time i reached Chakri the pistons were on fire.

Sure Sir but i spend as 3 days in the market to double check the rates myself. I also got shocked to hear. My best guess was all done in approx 70k.

Exactly. My thought is also around 60k to 70k. well i think all used engine sellers in market charge premium for supplies that are not in much supply. I remember charade diesel turbi rebuild costed me > Rs.40K. while vitz engine was also available at that time between 40 - 50 K.

That is 1600 CC baleno engine. Got one in my Cultus. By the way, went to Bilal Ganj and there complete 1000CC Baleno's Japanese assembly along with transmission is available for 90,000.

So you have fitted that g16b in place of 3 cylinder engine? I asked mechanic and he was demanding 18,000 rupees labor for such work!
