Just keep your cooling system in 10/10 condition to avoid gasket issues. Your radiator must always be full of water/coolant, no leakages, no seepage.
Water pump or water body must be working fine and circulating water evenly.
Regular watch at temp needle while driving. Immediately stop engine when it crosses mid mark..
Gasket is always gone due to overheating and that is mainly due to coolant issues...
I have experienced 3 times gasket issues and all of them were cuz of our own carelessnes. I have discussed this topic alot here on pw.. Almost 60% of engine comes out just to place this thin gasket between the head and engine block. These surfaces need to be crystal clear and even so that a new gasket successfully seals the gaps..therefore usually the head is made even by machine or 'faced'. There is a limit to the facing of head and once faced, usually a thicker gasket is used, not the oem..its best to check all belts including timing belt, water pump, all bearings as almost all comes out..this will save excessive labour, money and time..
