Dear All,
This is response is based on my personal experience with my recently imported Mira ES. L-Memorial Edition.
My car had Broken left headlight, damaged front fender and wheel. The 1st time I started the car it was showing 2 faults;
- ABS Light on. - ECO Idle light orange color and blinking.
After lot of research on internet I did the following;
ABS.
Took of the wheel and located the ABS sensor, its on the rear of CV joint fixed with 1x10mm bolt. Removed the bolt and took out the sensor, carefully followed the cable to the base of shock absorber till it enters the engine bay. Looked for cuts or damage. Checked the connection clip of sensor near the ABS pump. All was ok, cleaned the face of sensor with cloth and petrol as it was be covered with brake shoe dust. Refixed it and the wheel. To reset the system disconnected the battery -ive terminal for 1 minute. Reattached the battery terminal and took the car for drive. Initially the light was on, but eventually went off after few minutes.
ECO Idle Light.
Frankly, I tried every thing I could think off the ECO bar would turn green as I drove, but orange ECO idle light kept blinking the eco idle stop function did not work. I even tried new battery but no success.
Last night I ttok this car and discovered that the left head light was not working on dipped beam. Today I started looking into the fault, the bulb seemed fine but would not work. So I replaced it with a new bulb and it also did not light up.
So I started checking the wiring but every thing was fine, then I opened the fuse box and was surprised to note that there were fuses for each headlight and the left one was blown. I replaced the fuse and the headlight turned on.
As I was sitting in the car checking the lights I noticed that ECO Idle light was not visible, nice surprise.
I took the car for a spin and voila the ECO Idle turned green @ 55km/hr and idle stop started working every time i stopped the car.
On pressing the Eco Idle button the ECO Idle light turned orange and system turned off. This is good for slow bumper to bumper traffic.
I dont know if this had any thing to do with the fuse or not, but it worked for me.
Logically it would mean that ECO Idle system works only when there is no electrical fault.
I would suggest that you check all the connection clips making sure that they are locked especially in the areas that have been repaired.
There is no battery under the rear seat, from what I have read the alternator is high capacity and charges the battery rapidly for idle stop system.
