Assalamulaikum all. Me and my brother (skullbox) are working on a charade G101 project so I thought I'd share the progress with you guys. Its an 88 G101 Charade which originally came with a turbo diesel motor.

This is what it looked like when we bought it.

After buying it, the car was dropped off at Mithu ka Ahata in pindi the very next day for the swap because the noise and the smoke of the diesel engine was just unbearable and the fact that it delivered pathetic performance.

Here are a couple of pics of the engine. 3rd Gen 4E-FE, mated to a 5-forward transmission.

The 4E-FE finds its way into the engine bay.

The radiator's fan shroud had some surface rust which had to be taken care of. So it was time for a diy.

All the surface rust was cleaned with a wirebrush installed on a drill machine.

Nice and clean and ready to be painted.

After several coats of black paint.

You'll note that it has a dual barrel radiator installed for better cooling.

It was then fitted with power steering because the non-power one was very heavy.

go for 13 or 14 inch rim and drop it little bit then looks beautiful

engine is clean from outside but little bit dirty from inside, use fully synthetic oil or it will create problems in future
my 4efe was as like mirror from inside but very dirty from outside

@osamagulshan. Thanks. Yup its a great performer. It cost 53k with installation and wiring some 6-7 months back. The rims are on the list. Will get them after some other stuff is taken care of.
@pan0. Its actually very clean from inside its just the colour of the oil that was previously used in it. Now it runs on Liqui Moly's semi synthetic oil (10W-40)

I noticed the diesel radiator size and why the previous owner put it there, the upper radiator pipe is nearly the same height (even a little higher) as the engine upper pipe - this will cause air to be trapped at all times causing boiling in the system.

what a stupid idiotic approach (speaks greatly about our genius mechanics doesnt it)

btw to the OP - the radiator fan blades are warped - its useless now, get a nicer fan made of PA66 with some GF in it and it should have interlinked blades too.

I have also bought a G101 a couple of days back, the car is getting bodywork done, will be starting a 4efte swap soon Inshallah..

@Xulfiqar. Yep you're right. It must've caused the boiling issue with the previous motor because of the pipe being higher than the radiator but since we didnt run it much (went for the swap the very next day when we bought it) so cant really say if the issue occured or not. But its working fine with the current setup since now the pipe coming from the engine is a lot lower than the one on the radiator. About the fan fins warping, I noticed that too but didnt think it'll matter much so didnt replace it. Would you suggest to get a new one locally made or would one off the shelf work too?

Didnt get what the GF stands for. Could you please elaborate?

@Hassan4772. Yes its a G101 chasis which has a diesel motor as stock and the rest of it is basically pretty much like the g100. Goodluck with your project too Since you're getting the bodywork done first, I'd suggest you to leave the painting bit till after the swap so that the paint doesnt get damaged while the swap is undergone.

That is a nice swap.. Do fix the radiator pipe height issue..

What have you used to line the engine bay? Is that some sort of cloth? In which case its quite dangerous cause it can catch fire..

@Juadjee. Thanks. That issue was with the previous engine not this one. The lining in the engine bay is the stock insulation that comes with the diesel charade. It doesnt catch fire.
