The timings will never match, because engine undergo different load condition that is direclty proportional to the fuel consumption. Frankly speaking, i dont mind if my genny starts on GAS, and never run on petrol. Also, if you observe when switching fuel some times engine bogs and some time spikes, causing serious increase or decrease in voltages that are hazardous for electrical appliances running. So far, I have dropped the idea due to busy schedule of office.
By the way, did CNG solenoid worked on your kit? I need a solenoid valve to discontinue gas supply to gen upon shuting down. (Although i havent made alterations by inserting for idle setting)

You can use this solenoid I am using it for 2 months now on main gas line

yeah that was the main reason of doing it with the carbys petrol solenoid...cuz with the other solenoid timing never matched it didn't worked,it only worked under the carby solenoid and for about 3/4months ,i never had any switching issue or any flactuations
because from petrol to gas timer was set at 5 seconds..and ATS load on generator timing was set on 1minute.. so by that time it was stable...
the solenoid which moiz just posted thats the same one.. moiz, agoodfriend and iam using for stopping NG.

I possess a honda 6500CXS
its run on cng for the last two years (since purchase)
The problem with the gen is that if i glow lights and fan on it, it works fine, but as soon as i put a heavier load(fridge or freezer) on it, the gen dies down

History:
By the way it used to work fine two years ago. It had ATS installed and used to support full house load including all heavy appliances.

Then one day i decided to run it on petrol. It didnt run properly(petrol started leaking from carburator), so i converted back to cng, but the performance on cng since that day has diminished badly. Also previously it used to pick up rpm right upon givin self. Now i have to give choke myself to raise RPM.

What should i do?

i've been through all the ngkit setting n got all the things. what i want to ask is what about choke? i want to start my gen directly on gas. n i understood all the process. but what position of the choke should be? i think choke should be fully on... is it correct? if not thn plz tell me what should be the position of choke. i will install ats so i dont want to have the hassle of adjusting choke...

Dear Irfan,

Altgough much experienced people are here to to suggest solution to your problem, but as I have understood, you need not to apply any choke while to start on NG. I mean choke should not be given at all. More important thing for starting on NG is position of venturi hole in carb, good Denso Spark plug with gap adjusted to 0.4 mm and NG kit modification for Idle setting.

ATS has nothing to do with choke adjustments, instead it is basicall for providing auto Self (start / stop of engine) and shifting load from commercial to generator and back. hope it clarifies.

I am facing a problem that my generator does not start on petrol now.
it does get start easily on natural gas by opening a choke about 70% and then i close the choke once it gets started and then it works perfectly on gas but since few weeks it does not start on petrol.
my generator is Firman 2.5KVA 8months old and around 600 hours running has been done.
i called a generator guy from authorised centre for tuning service etc then he told me that your curburetor ring is deformed now so it might not get started on petrol and he was right after a week now it does not start on petrol so what is the possible solution and cause of it.

thnx for replying bro. so u mean i should set the ng kit where there choke is totally turned off? i got all the other things bro just want to confirm this thing. because on petrol we turn choke off thn kick start engine thn turn choke on full n put load of home appliances on genset. but in gas if choke will be turned off how it will get acceleration.? woul it react automatically?
i have got the thing how to tune on gas the thing about which m confused is asked above
one thing more i do have self start genset m gonna buy battery today INSHALLAH thn will install ATS

hello ,thats good to know that its working fine.. kindly share the pictures of ur ats and ngkit aswell
in which way did u modified ur kit? yeah u need a gas solenoid valve, for ref check the last post of moizirfan he posted a picture..well if ur using the same ats agoodfriends design then there's a point of stopping ng solenoid but if ur using a diff one then .. have to design according to ur ATS..

brother new carburetor costs below rs 400, take ur old carburetor with you for getting the exact same one.. and also get the jan seals for ur carburetor,at times float bowl gets jammed to,but as u have already said ur ring is deformed.. best solution is get it fixed or get the new one .. whole carby costs less then rs 400.

bro ive ordered CLIPPER ATS as my father ddnt allow me to make one myself as he wants stuff with warranty and all that so the ATS is CLIPPER now tell me gas solution
i will post pics of my genset n kit dont have camera right now. i modified the kit ur way bro i mean putting nut bolt in the center of kit with epoxi n tuning the way agoodfriend mentioned.

check brandth road,if u can get ur hands on 12v's one
if not then you u have to get one from abid market i think thats the place for fridge freezers? its on the other side of jailroad..iam not sure about the name of that market.. but they do have 220v one .. u have to convert that 220v into 12vdc one by taking it to hallroad.

I advised my two friend to buy locin. one of them bought a Suzuki 3 kva for Rs 38 thousand. it starts directly on petrol without choke, not checked on gas but he says it starts directly on gas too.this is the first time i heard about suzuki generators. it has a single 220v output socket only and no 12v output of any sort.
The other friend bought a FIRMAN 3 kva generator for Rs 40 thousand. it has a company fitted gaskit of firman.the gas kit is same as available locally in market. it doesn't start directly on gas but requires choke. Its sound level was really low.half that of locin 2.5KVA. it was written in its manual that its sound level is 93DB. :o It has a digital meter which shows voltage, frequency, hour meter. I was really impressed by it + one year warranty of mechanical parts.

have you check that voltage with the meter fitted by factory on generator ?.........is never been acurate,,,,,,,any how adjust the voltage from the variable on the back side of AVR ,,,,,,,,,also adjust the engine RPM with the Hz meter

i have recently buy JD 2.5 kva generator , now the generator is giving 280 out put instead of 220, plz guide me,

you batter leave that job of cylinder boring on machine shop,,,,,,,,,and there are measurements of piston and cylinder but i dont have them,,,,,,,,usually you need such measurements before taking decision whether to change the piston or keep using it after changing just rings,,,,,,,,

what should be the clearance between piston and cylinder wall,or it should be stick together???

Dear Friends, I am really moved by this thread and bravo to your efforts made towards humanity without a single penny, you have inspired a number of people including me; through your marvelous technical skills and soft spoken words to each query to other members.

I have ordered a 8KVA Genset (6.6KW max) SUMEC FIRMAN Model SPG8500E2 for my home. (78000 Rs. Including Gaskit, battery and Delivery Charges) require to run 1.5 Ton AC, 2 Fridge units, lights and fan and for future requirement if added later.

I need to run this generator on NG so naturally need exactly what you have done and I was thrilled by seeing your thread but Alas i don't have much time and knowledge about the electronics so please guide me in the following:I am planning to Buy Clipper ATS as a kind fellow member mahmudaqshared. but then how can i attach & operate NG Solenoid you mentioned in your post. or otherwise you are kind enough to build me one the same setup you made for yourself.

I would highly appreciate the words in this regard and comments on my Genset.
