Caltex petrol

what is the octane rating of the caltex petrol.
it is written in my lancer manual that 1.6 cars needs minimum 95 ron. now when i use caltex petrol alone the engine knocks and when i mix it with 15 liters of hi octane per tank it runs fine.
can some body confirm whats the ron of caltex petrol and hioctane

i used super in 1.6 lancer n no prob at all.....btw RON rating of super is 89 n hioctance is 97....maybe m wrong

but in 1.6 at its giving problem.if i press the pedal hard then the gear kicks down and there is no knocking but if i try to accelerate slowly than the knocking comes.but with hioctane mixed there is no problem. any one using auto 1.6 lancer please share your experience. plus in the manual it clearly says that the minimum need for 1.6 with the cat converter is 95 ron.

dude same knocking thing happened with my city the probzz noticed is PSO PUMPS not the company operated ones as soon i filled my tank the knocking starts i went to honda they told me go to TOTAL SHELL cuz pso mixes their petrol with irani petrol i guess thats what the service manager told me after filling my tank from total and shell the knocking got over

this happened with my vitz mostly on low revs......and with a/c on the initial pick up........tuning wala said its due to kachra in petrol..........i used hi-octance it does makes difference.....but not mch though.....yh japani gariyan arent meant for pakistani mixed fuels ...........to yh bechariyan get pareshan........gradualy tell get addicted to it lolx....

if super is 91 and hobc is 97 and i want to get the ron 95 according to the manual than i have to mix it 50 50 .
am i right.
that will be damn expensive

bro i am filling from caltex which is in phase 1 near the national bank on korangi road and it is company oprated.

exactly same thing is happening to me.with ac it knocks on low revs if run on super only.but the strange thing is some cars from japan are giving this problem some dont.why

i didnt mean caltex i mean PSO Company operated outlet i have tried allthe petrol companies here in karachi best is SHELL then TOTAL and CALTEX thats what i feel !! and beware of pso pumps near time medico

i guess there low on there dil .......and they got addicted to pakistani fuel easily.......em not a technical banda so in a laymans laguage this is the best i can say.......kheir mechanics say chalti hai to chalao ..........jub kharri hojai to hum haina .........chalti ka naam garri...........i was really tensed coz every who use to c my car doing this they said tuming belt kharab hai tuning kharab hai etc etc.........but the real thing is something else..........ive seen many vitzes doing this..............

my lancer is only 19000 driven and still under waranty but the dewan people are not helping.when ever i go to them they clean the sensors in the engine and car runs ok for day and two and then the problem comes back. cant they set the ecu to lower ron setting ?

one more thing
in my cars manual its said that only the cars with cat converter needs 95 ron,and cars with out cat converter needs 90
if you try to get the cat converter out of your car (which can be done easily) you may get rid of your problem.

I think ITS NOT RIGHT TO SAY THAT THE FUEL FROM XYZ CO. IS BAD. its the petrol pumps that mostly degrade the quality of petrol.
