One of the biggest surprises of this year's Beijing Auto Show was the SouEast V6 fastback which is a very well-designed car. It is officially still a concept but very close to production, the production version will hit the Chinese car market late this year with minimal changes. The V6 is even more a surprise because we haven’t seen a single spy-shot of the V6, at all. This indeed is highly unusual, as normally we see zillions of spy-shots of each and every car that is developed in China.
The V6 will be SouEast top model, positioned above the new V5 sedan. The SouEast V6 is powered by a 1.8 liter engine with 144hp and 174nm, mated to a six-speed manual or a CVT gearbox. V6 seems like a very fine car and will enhance the reputation of SouEast in Chinese market.
Soueast Motors is a joint venture between Japanese Mitsubishi Motors, Chinese Fujian Motor Industry Group, and Taiwanese China Motor Corporation.
