JAC’s latest mini car is set to be priced at a super low price, i.e. from 30,000rmb (3.7 lac PKR) to 40,000rmb (4.9 lac PKR) and will give some serious competition to the sub 40,000rmb car segment.
The Yue Yue’s competition is vast, sales champions such as the Chery QQ3 and the relative new comer the BYD F0 as well as the Chang’an Ben Ben Mini are going to give the Yue Yue a tough time in a market segment where the manufacturers run on a pile them high, sell them cheap philosophy and profit margins are wafer thin.
The Yue Yue measures LxWxH 3535×1640×1475 and has a wheelbase of 2390mm making it a tiny package. Engine power will be a tiny 1 liter block that will put out 68bhp, enough for the city but not ideal for longer jaunts into the suburbs. Interestingly, JAC have had the foresight to make the Yue Yue upto Chinese5 (Euro IV) emissions level, and have offered an automatic model as well as a five speed manual which is probably going to be the Yue Yue’s unique selling point, as many other super minis are not offering automatic transmission at this price point, and lets not forget that it has disc brakes all around.
