SAIC launched the all-new Roewe 950 in April 2012. The 950 rides on top of GM’s Epsillon II platform which also underpins a multitude of GM models, from the Buick Regal to the Cadillac XTS and also the new Chevrolet Impala.
Roewe 950 comes with a choice of 2.0L, 2.4L and 3.0L V6 engines. The 950 comes in at a very cheap 188,900RMB (26.9 lac PKR) for the base 2.0L model which puts it way above models such as the naturally aspirated Mazda6, Ford Mondeo, Toyota Camry, and Honda Accord in terms of price but then you are getting a much bigger vehicle and for Chinese, bigger is better. The 950 is a bigger car than its rivals: measuring 4996mm/1857mm/1502mm, with a wheelbase of 2837mm. The 2.4L version is priced in at 240,000RMB (34.2 lac PKR) and the top of the line 3.0L V6 comes in at 320,000RMB (45.7 lac PKR).
The car's target market is successful businesspeople, where it will compete with likes of the Volkswagen Magotan, Skoda Superb, Nissan Teana and Ford Mondeo, Toyota Camry & Honda Accord.
