2008 Maserati GranTurismo
February 20th, 2007 - To be released at the Geneva Auto Show, the GranTurismo is set to replace Maserati's ageing Coupe/Spyder and will take the idea to new visual extreme.
Power should come from the same 450 hp 4.7-liter V8 that is currently powering the gorgeous 2-seat 8C Competizione.
Autoblog said ''looking less like a Buick than the Quattroporte sketches of the new Maserati Coupe show an aggressive two-door with significant 'coke bottle' cues.'' This new look is the work of well-regarded Jason Castriota at Pininfarina, the same firm that styled the Quattroporte five years ago. Jason's egg-crate grill brings back memories of Maseratis past, particularly the A6GCS Pininfarina, probably the prettiest Maserati ever made.
Fit and refinement should be top quality and we can only hope this Coupe is built in all aluminum like it's Ferrari 599 big brother.
A Spyder version is expected to debut sometime in 2008.
