In which case, by definition, he's not really a nincompoop, is he?
I'm not discounting the skill of our extremely innovative mechanics in Pakistan. It's just that there are certain things that one feels a lot safer giving to those who have had experience with them.
I once met an American who works in Dubai, and he explained to me how a foreigner who's relatively unfamiliar with the language operates there--to him, 'mash'Allah' meant 'God has willed it', while 'insha'Allah' meant 'most unlikely'! Unfortunately, a lot of mechanics I've met in Lahore will be all too eager to jump at a job that they know close to nothing about completing.
hash4u, could you please tell me who this mechanic is? I wouldn't mind sending the unit to Pindi, if need be.
Thanks.
