They'd lost it a bit with their Cambiocorsa nonsense. It didn't match the demeanor of the car, not the 4200/3200 GT, nor the Quattroporte.
In this case however, I'd say they're coming back to form. It really doesn't matter if you have the last percentage of speed form this car. It's the image of the car that makes it so desirable. I'd compare it to an Italian Bentley (The ones with the Pushrod Turbo V8s, not the BMW/VW malarkey).

The Ghibli Cup holds the Guinness World Record for the highest specific Power output in it's day. 330+BHP from a Turbo 2.0 V6.
The Shamal comes under the category of "so ugly it's beautiful" It was penned by Marcello Gandini, the father of the Countach.
