    Default FAW V2 Owner's Review

So I finally made my Father agree and bought this beauty.
Now you guys are gonna get the first owner's review I guess
I've driven it for almost 500kms now.
First talking about the drive, its beautiful and wonderful.
The acceleration is just freakin awesome.
I asked a friend who has 2013 gli to have a little race with me just to check the acceleration and I was amazed when the gli couldnt even catch up close :')
The ABS brake is quite responsive.
Although there's a little play in the paddle(if play means you have to press the paddle more).Bit the ABS WAS QUITE RESPONSIVE
    The suspension was also wonderful.
I just felt of it like my dad's corolla. So comfortable that I'm totally satisfied.
In the interior there's ample seat for a person like me (6''1' tall) on the front seats and the people on the back can also easily be entertained.
I didnt have a usb so I borrowed it from a friend for a bit
Usb played well and the two speakers did the job for me although I like high bass but they're perfect for doing the job .
The steering is very easy to handle.
The only issue I had was that it took me almost a day to get used to the opposite positions of headlights and viper knob.
The plastic of interior as some people said isn't really cheap but the color sometimes make it look so in high sunlight.
The grip of the car is amazing, just like a JDM as I'be previosuly owned a JDM.
    Why did I buy it?
I had to buy a car now and my considerations were cultus, wagon r,used vitz and passo.
It was quite difficult to make a choice.
    Pros:
The car is brand new unlike JDMs,it wont make me go to the workshop again and again, even if there's anything wrong, its the company's headache to solve the problem upto 50,000 kms.
It has dual airbags as compared to cultus and wagon r.
Power windows, power steering,ABS which are not there in cultus.
    The drive is very smooth.
It is way more powerful as it is 1300cc and I could not get any other 1300 cc new car in this range.
Cultus and wagon r didnt werwe totally waved out of my mind after V2.

    Cons:
Uptill now no resale, but I am hapy that they have set up their plant in Karachi and they say they will be starting its local production in 2015 which means they are here to stay and make a name in the market.
Spare parts although available all over Pakistan in 3S dealerships but not in open market uptill now.

I was able to convince myself that these cons are nothing infront of the pros so I finally decided to take it.I'm loving the ride untill now as its beautifull, sexy and a good performer.I'm sharing the pictures .I'll sooon be getting its body kit made aswell.
Anything else you guys wanna ask me,you can.

    Edited: 6th November 2015
Ive used my V2 for almost a year now and I'm really satisfied with it.My brother has also bought a v2 after my experience in white color.
He is also enjoying the ride.
I would recommend anyone who has a budget of 1 million to go for this car.
My brother got this Financed from JS bank.
    We're loving it

    Salam Dear Owners,

I love the car as I see it in showroom in Lahore but didn't have test drive. I never have ride in the past and I am new driver. I have read this thread almost all pages and daily checking reviews. Price and option this car has are awesome. But let me tell you honestly that I am self made person who very tightly managed the price for this car (Using bank lease option.) I need a family car that serve me for long run. After reading the reviews and getting suggestion from friends including my elder bro I am now hang in between the decision to go for it or not. I will really appreciate the old owners like fmkiani, aqeel.abbas and others to give me a push to take decision.

My confusion is about the some issue those are reported for this car.

    1) Back Tyre breaks are faulty and generate some cracking noise.
    2) Cabin is not isolated well so dust or air comes in while traveling
    3) Cabin is noisy and even back seater can't communicate with driver when drive is above 100Km.
    4) Rubber finishing of the car is not well and generate metallic sound while shutting the door. But I think this can be resolved by installing the good rubber from market. (This issue is noticed myself while checking car in showroom.)

I am not afraid of resale because I will not go for it near future if car is really good as I can't afford to change my ride frequently.
I need this car for family as right now I am living in Lahore but my home town is about 550 km away from Lahore and I want this to use when I visit my home town with my family including my kids.

Please help me out or suggest the best car that suitable for my conditions.

As you want to keep the car for a longer period you should go for zero meter car as you would be travelling longer distances too. The options you have in this price range are wagon r, cultus, mehran... and believe me v2 is way better than all of these cars. Its the best value for money. Yes the problems you mentioned are there but these are nothing if you consider the pros of this car and these issues can be easily fixed.
Another option for you can be a used swift but then again it would not give the satisfaction of a zero meter. 4 of my friends who own swift test drove my v2 and they all praised it and were really impressed by its drive and comfort. Suspension and steering is awesome. You will never get tired even after driving long distances. Pick and power is great as its a 1300 cc dohc engine. Best fuel average for a 1300cc. You get abs+ebd... eps... all the features you can ask for in a car... steering is extremely light.. everyone loves it... ride is way better than swift.. very very comfortable seats and ample leg room space... inside you get a feeling of a sedan car... faw gives 3 years or 60000km warranty too... Im really happy i bought it... i was in same confusion as you are but now im glad i made the right choice...
Only finalise after having a test drive... also test drive swift, wagon r, cultus and you will get the clear picture... you will know the difference... v2 is a feature packed car in terms of safety and luxury... all the best

I have bought a brand new v2 in February 2016. Have driven 7500 km on this car. Here is my review.
I have bought it in white color and have changed the seat covers to light and dark grey leatherite custom made covers. I have also installed door rubbers from local market for wind noise. I have changed the stock CD player with Chinese Almani dvd player. Have also changed the front door speakers and have added two speakers on custom made phatta with matching leatherite covering. Roof light is also changed with much brighter white LED. Rest is stock.

Regarding the drive, it's absolutely amazing keeping in view the power of 1300 cc engine in such a small body. ABS breaks are extremely responsive and kicks in whenever there is need. I also drive city 2014 and somehow I feel better control in this car maybe because of small size and extremely easy maneuvering of whole car. Seats feel Slightly higher than city and this might be the reason of better vision in front and overall control.

The interior of the car is spacious specially front seats. If you drive alone or only with front passenger then by slightly reclining the seats back, the space in front is as good as in Honda city. I have no complaints regarding the plastic of dash board or whole interior. Rather after getting the matching Leatherite poshish I am liking the interior much better than stock.

Before installing door rubbers there was extreme wind noise at speeds above 80 km/H however now even at speed of 120 there is absolutely no wind noise but engine noise above 100 is considerable.

Horn is somewhat like a truck but I am enjoying the different feel of horn too.

There is absolutely no vibration even at speed of 120 and car feels extremely stable.

Regarding noises at bumpy roads, initially there were some minor noises from boot but after I tied the tool bag properly with the attached strings there is no noise from dash board or boot.

Its also good to get the nuts and bolts tightened up at every oil change cuz that feels like removing any minor sounds at rough bumpy roads.

There is some on and off very feeble vibration noise coming from silencer which occurs when we are pushing the accelerator.I have checked it on high ramp and it seems like the rubber mountings of whole exhaust system is slightly elastic which allows the vibration. However Its too feeble which might not be noticed if Ac is on high speed.

Regarding Air conditioner it's good with powerful throw at high speeds but it has considerable noise too at high speeds. You can say that noise at highest speed is same as in alto 2007 at highest speeds.

Seats are extremely comfortable and the aftermarket poshish has added to the soft foamy effect.

Regarding fuel mileage it was giving me 13 to 14 km/l without ac in city and 11 to 12 km/Liter with ac in city these days.

The door closing have that cheap sound of metallic knock and it is slightly reduced by rubbers but still I feel door closing is not upto mark.

Hand break in this car is not effective at extreme steeps. I have got it checked at dealership twice and they have done some adjustments but still it's not upto mark. May be it's the problem in my car only or all other have the same problem too?

There is also a metallic knock when the steering wheel is turned fully to one side. It seems like further rotation of steering wheel is stopped by some metal piece.

Overall in conclusion I would like to say that in 10 lac 90 thousand rupees (including registration) this is the best car one can get. No other car in this price range comes even closer to this vehicle. Regarding new wagon r, I would definitely say that drive your self both cars and then feel the difference. The comfort of drive cuz of larger engine and shape of car and ABS breaks is enough to choose v2 as a daily ride.
Regarding the airbags and protection, the topic is already beaten to death in this thread so no need for elaborating that point.

Potential buyers can think in this way that it's not Honda City but at the same time cultus, alto, wagon r is no match to this car in this price range. I am no enthusiast of JDM cars cuz of there unknown history and being refurbished so no comparison with JDM cars.

There is also a metallic knock when the steering wheel is turned fully to one side. It seems like further rotation of steering wheel is stopped by some metal piece.

Overall in conclusion I would like to say that in 10 lac 90 thousand rupees this is the best car one can get. No other car in this price range comes even closer to this vehicle. Regarding new wagon r, I would definitely say that drive your self both cars and then feel the difference. The comfort of drive cuz of larger engine and shape of car and ABS breaks is enough to choose v2 as a daily ride.
Regarding the airbags and protection, this tropic is already beaten to death in this thread so no need for elaborating that point. 😊

Potential buyers can think in this way that it's not Honda City but at the same time culture, alto, wagon r is no match to this car in this price range. I am no enthusiast of JDM cars cuz of there unknown history and being refurbished so no comparison with JDM cars.

Hand break in this car is not effective at extreme steeps. I have got it checked at dealership twice and they have done some adjustments but still it's not upto mark. May be it's the problem in my car only or all other have the same problem too?

I have never been into a bmw or audi in my whole life. But i must say Cultus and WR have much better interior. But exterior wise, V2 is having a killer look - head turner!
