Till this day i am searching for a system my dad installed in our 86 corolla GL Saloon back in 1990. It was an amazing car safety system. Mechanism was quite interesting. At that time we installed it for Rs. 4,500/- (i still remember).
It had two buttons (Master & Slave) for operation which they used to install at some hidden locations. Buttons were too small. As tiny as head of a paper pin. We installed them inside the hole from where indicator/headlight lever used to come out.
For starting the car, you had to push MASTER. After starting, pushing SLAVE would keep it start, otherwise, the car would turn off after 60 secs automatically. You had to revise the starting procedure again in that case.
There were too charming points in this system.
It was linked to light switch of the driver's door. In case of car snatching, robbers usually open this door. In that case, the system activated once the door is opened and the car would turn off automatically after 45 secs. In-case you opened the door yourself, after closing it, you had to push SLAVE button once to keep the engine running.
Suppose, the car turns off after snatching and robbers find the system unit and disconnect it, even then the car won't start UNTIL new system is installed and starting procedure is properly followed.
