Default Islamabad Jeep Club 12 th July 09 pics

    Dear Friends

    Alhamdo Lillah

We ( IJC ) had a wonderful Offroading session after a very long time.
We were expecting 15 4x4's but to our surprise 23 different 4x4's turned up.
At first the weather was hot but gradually it get better n better.
It started raining at the end n we all enjoyed in rain also.
Shabab ( Untame, on Safari ) got excited n did some extra manouvering in rain.

The surprise which i was talking about was that our senior member Ibad came after a very long break. ( He got married )

As usual lot of pics n videos were taken by our friends which they will upload at their convenience.

Special thanx to Kashif who came all the way from Peshawar
Salman Niazi came on his M 151 n Irshad came on his Gypsy ( They r from Mansehra Jeep Club )

Thanx a lot to all friends n members who came n enjoyed with us

I would also like to thank (Jadoon sb I think) for the samosas and coke. In case it was courtesy of someone else thank you too. I will be more than pleased to take the responsibility of arranging snacks and drinks in the next IJC event but will need help storing them in a cool box. I am not sure how exactly this works but I feel the responsibility of this should be on a rotating or shared basis rather than on one individual or the same individuals for that matter.

I have tried attaching the pictures I took here but it is taking too long so will do so some other time. In the meanwhile please see the pictures (in better resolution) I have uploaded on flickr http://www.flickr.com/photos/speciousworld/show/

In the end thank you all once again for a wonderful event.

What a lovely photostream. It was a delight to watch. And you have a great looking ride. Looks like you were using a very nice lens, your subjects are standing out nicely. Please share details of your DSLR and lens.

....and it looks like your ride and my ride are cousins.

raohamid/RKR, thank you very much I am glad you liked them. I don't have any special lense its the standard one that came along with Canon D400. I just increased the light and sharpness in some of the pictures. I am not sure if you have had a chance to see the pictures by redbull_ar, those are really something, he post processes quite nicely.

With regards to our rides being cousins, mine would be a baby cousin of yours as it has a 2.4 litre petrol engine (22R), almost half of what you have. Since its the original that came along with it I do not want to change it. And also its the best (available) balance between off road and city driving.

Brother, I'll look at your vidz from home, blocked at work. However, I can tell you though that in my limited off road experience, i feel engine doesn't matter as much as the other more important elements, the overall suspension, the weight of the vehicle, its traction capabilities etc. Your 4x4 is one of the best where that is concerened. And you're right, the 3F i have in my RKR is perhaps the worst engine I have ever driver for city driving. Its a different animal altogether when it goes off road.

I am a fan of photography, have a huge collection of Nikon DSLRS and lenses, but ever since Lahore has been hit by loadshedding, I can't find the will to do these massive post processing jobs. Looking forward to talk about two hobbies with you in the future.
