Did you get the nozzles checked / serviced as well? how about the impact on consumption?
I recently got this entire work done on my 2005 2.0D....tappets, nozles, pump.... feeling a much better ride....will update on consumption after a tank full is consumed....Well the mechanic advised me to pour half a liter of mobil oil (khula engine oil) in a tank ful just before leaving for a long drive like going to lahore on motorway so that the entire system is lubricated....i am not convinced though...Would like you ppl specially Xulfiqar to comment on it...
so you are suggesting to add how much ATF in a tank full ?....well i thought it would make the entire fuel system more "greasy" and hence invite clogging through gel build up or particulate accumulation at sites which become more sticky due to the oil which, otherwise would have been relative clean if plain diesel is flowing....
"...adding oil to the fuel isnt bad - it provides a more solid hydraulic pressure in the pump for good pump advance - and mobil oil gives off more BTUs than diesel itself.."
Now my question is ...that considering this to be a one time treatment....how one can achieve above results in a sustained manner? are you suggesting that such treatments have long time impact....say for six months or so?
Thirdly, how can pump internal pressure be checked and adjusted ?
thanks...
