    Default Lowering of Surf

    AoA, Can any1 guide me as to how I can lower down Surf 1997... Do I have to altering its Shocks or just change its Tyres?

    if u want local and cheap solution then get the stock springs shortened down by as much inches u want ur surf to be lowered or what u can do is check out with suspension wala they have used springs of many cars with them so u can get a pair from him if he has for ur car and then get them shortened and ur gud to go but make sure the suspension guy are gud at their job bcoz balance is must while shortening the springs.

    very unpractical, lowered springs need to be stiffer than stock ones in order to bear the weight accordingly so that the wheels don't touch the body when there's some extra weight.

    Lowering is no as simple as it seems ,one have 2 take care of many factors,,,if u shorten the coil spring u have to calculate its load bearing, roll center, also the angle of the hydraullic shock and wheel is adjusted by the mnufacturer, if u put low profile tyres then ur ride will be bumpy...

    i've seen a lowered 97-shape surf in ISB, was running on 15's with low(ish) profile tyres and lowered springs. however i think it came that way from australia... you might want to check to see if something like that was offered there back then.
