Default Hello! First post here: jimny or not jimny?

    Hello !
I'm french, finishing my studies, and planning to replace my good old peugeot 106 (240.000km) for a more fun toy, for me and my girlfriend.

After months of stuying, (I've always been a 4x4 lover: a toyota bj42 would be my dream, but it is too petrol-thirsty in these times .. fuel prices are rising)
I've come to a point where there is two possible vehicules ahead:

    - mazda mx-5 NA with 115cv motor

    OR
    - suzuki jimny with vvt 1.3 motor

My heart goes with the jimny but...

Is it realy reliable? (In Pakistan, you've got deserts, so you can tell better advice than all the road SUV owners here in France ! )
All advice is good, thank you very much for advance !

    Xavier

    welcom man:
i am also interested in a jimny thats y i have a lot of research on that. my choice would a also be jimny coz its small affordable and only 1300 cc, also its 4WD is good and in pakistan it has won many desert rallies........
so my suggestion is that go for it and pray that i am also able to buy one soon.

Jimny is the best choice for on or even off road especially its too good in desert.

Jimny SJ413 is excellent choice! wait/power ratio is great. As far as desert is concerned even local assembled sj410 which is 1.0 is known as Queen of Desert . 1.3 Jimny is better in power and due to MPFI economical too.

Thank you for your answers !

Salman: I thought of the "new" jimny with 1.3 vvt motor, and more confortable than the sj410 or 413, these last ones can not really make road travellings... contrary to the vvt one which can easily travel at 110km/h.

Oh yes! you are talking about latest one.

    Jimny

Actually, I don't have much info about latest one. but here some people say the new models are not so much rough and tough. At the same time price of latest jimny is very high.

Owners of latest model can give you good idea. best of luck.
