After last winter’s Lake Saif-ul Malook day trip, when we could not go much beyond Jalkhad, I had been thinking a day trip to Babusar Top.

The opportunity finally landed my way on June 17th last month. Nomi had gone Naran a day before, so I planned to join him for the Sunday trip to the top Of Babusar Top! Suhaib Kiani and little Zaid accompanied me on this madmax trip!
The getting there part was completely un-eventful and as planned. We stopped in main Naran Bazar for our lovely hot breakfast along with much need cups of tea! Than we moved on towards Babusar Top. On the way we caught up with Nomi near Jalkhad, where they were just lazing by the river enjoying the lovely weather n atmosphere.
The drive to the top had gorgeous views as expected. At the top we got off the track, and ascended on the nearbye hill to gain further altitude and get away from the crowd, (a gazillion jeeps with tourists parked by the road side!)
No matter how many times one has been to Babusar, the feeling is amazing as ever. We had our lovely packed lunch at the top followed by chilled mangoes, plums, melons with a view to kill for! We even had a very slight snowfall when we were at the top. As serene as one can imagine!
When it was time to return, we had an unlucky cut on Nomi’s rear tyre deflating it immediately with a loud CHUSSSSSSSSsssssssss! Along with the tyre change, a leak in radiator hose was noted near the overflow bottle. All was dealt with by ourselves, but it did prolong our journey time to Naran. Along the way, we gave lift to several people walking on the road. Finally after a tea break in Naran PTDC, we started our return journey home. The traffic beyond balakot was horrendous, there were long queues of loaded trucks specially close to Mansehra.
It had been a long day, but despite the lack of sleep and prolonged driving stint, there was constant grin on my face……………… for having done it……………………an awesome experience……………….for making it to the Top….our own magnificent Babusar Top!
Many thanks to Suhaib n young Zaid for their lovely company on this very ambitious trip. Lots of thanks to Nomi and his gang for the lovely lunch and river chilled fruit which we had at the top
A totally awesome experience!
