Hi people,
I have a unique problem with my car and I'm hoping someone can help out,
I have a Lancruiser BJ74 (1985 model with a B13-T engine) and it has a 24 volt electrical system.
There seems to be a problem perhaps with the wiring as the vehicle discharges excessively when the engine is not switched on, it seems the voltage is leaking excessively or being sapped up by something which I can't figure out.
Even if all electrics are turned off when the key is left at the ACC position, the batteries discharge almost completely within 10-15 mins, and if the headlights are on , the batteries discharge within 3 to 4 minutes to such a low level that the vehicle cannot be restarted unless jumped.
I have already had the alternator and fan belt replaced but the problem persists,
does anyone know a highly efficient electrician in Karachi who is proficient in a 24 volt electrical system or does anyone know what the cause of this problem is???
The second issue I have is that this is my primary mode of transport and I cannot afford to leave it at a workshop for more than a day really,
so I need not only an efficient and proficient electrician but also one who can work faster than a speeding bullet.
In summation, if anyone has experienced similar problems please share the causes or if anyone know such a Superelectrician, could I please have his contact details.
Any help is really appreciated,
thanks,
Faraz.
