Help Me-Token tax certificate and Duplicate book

Hi All,

I lost my car registration book and filed an FIR. And for the last one Year I am travelling using the FIR only. I got the tranfer/ownership letter from Excise office Rawalpindi. Now I need the Token tax certificate from the post office before going to Lahore. It was just by chance that I knew the date of transfer as my friends wedding was on the same day and finally the excise guys gave me the Transfer letter.

1. Now I don't have the photocopy or PO Code of the book.
2. I never paid the token tax myself but the earlier owner did.
3. Post office guys are least cooperative.
   4. Tokens were paid till 30-Jun 2007 now is it possible that the last owner had paid the tokens before 1st July 2006 for the year 2007 ? This will help in manuall search.
4. If in case i am not able to get the token tax certificate than what can I do?

Any help/info will be very much appreciated.

Q1 As Tokens were paid till 30-Jun 2007 now is it possible that the last owner had paid the tokens before 1st July 2006 or he is never allowed to pay before 1st july. I owned the car on 15 August so this narrows down the search in the post office for me which I want to do once before going the Mithai way ?

Q2 As I got the car transfered on my name Is it a proof that the earlier tokens were paid and is it useful in some sense. As I can pay all tokens after I owned the car.
